Who here is going to see The Producers, when it comes out? I have seen a trailer recentlly on TV, and it looks very funny.

I'd like to see it. Have you seen the original movie, which came out in 1968 and had Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder in the lead roles? That was a very funny movie, and it should be interesting how the new one compares. I'm curious...who's going to play Lorenzo St. DuBois (aka LSD, the goofy hippie-type actor whom Bialystock & Bloom casted as their Hitler) in the new film? In the '68 original, LSD/Hitler was played by Dick Shawn and IMO he was the funniest character in the movie.

I don't know if I'll go see it.I saw the original quite a
few times and what a classic movie it was.I saw a "making
of the Producers" on HBO and it seems they changed it
just enough to make it interesting but I still don't know if
I'll go see it.

On a side note,it seems Hollywood is completely out of
ideas. Most movies coming out now are either remakes of
older movies or TV shows.

I am sure it will do real well.  The Broadway production of it starring Broderick and Lane was talked about almost everywhere, and you couldn't not hear people raving about it
