That was on the top for way too long. Occasionally her streak was interrupted by the Black Eyed Peas though, right?
No, she had a unbroken run at the top, whilst her other song Shake it Off sat at #2. I forget what song eventually knocked her off. But now she's back at the top with her new song Don't Forget About Us. Currently all three songs are still in the U.S. top 50 .. 'We Belong Together' is actually rising again. She just refuses to go away >:( ;D

Song of the year - "Since You've Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson
It was a huge hit, it's a great song, she did well in 05.
Album of the year - "A Time To Love" by Stevie Wonder
Best album is a long, long time. Every song is great, no fillers. 10 years were well worth the wait, IMO.
Artist of the year - (tie) Mariah Carey & Kelly Clarkson
Mariah Carey made a huge comeback this year. Kelly Clarkson had a load of hits. Both girls did well.
Film of the year - Sin City
Brilliant film. I love the use of black and white with the bits of colour. Really impressive.
Book of the year - Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince
I love the Harry Potter story thus far, I couldn't wait to read this book and I can't wait to read the next book and finish of the brilliant tale of Harry Potter. HBP is the best HP book IMO. Everything is starting to unfold now, Harry's realised what he needs to do to kill Voldemort, and the shock factor made the book really good too. Snape killing Dumbledore was a big shock, and so was finding out Draco is a Death Eater. Great book.
Best event of the year - Michael Jackson being found not guilty
This was the biggest "in your face" event of the year. Everyone thought he would be found guilty, and most people hopes he would too. But when that "not guilty" verdit was read out, people went wild! Fans were joyous, media were bitter, and the public was in disbelief. If I was Michael, I would've jumped on top of the SUV and moonwalked. Then I would've got on TV and said, "Yall can say what you want because I'm not guilty. You've been saying all this time that I'm guilty and I'm going to jail. Well I've been vindicated by a jury of my peers so go eat crow bitched!"

Actually, I believe, she jumped on the "illiteracy is cool" bandwagon and titled it "Since U Been Gone".
