Long time WB drama "7th Heaven" recently got canned for 10 seasons due to high cost of the show. Personally, I didn't even know the show was still on.


Another show, "Arrested Development" recently got axed from Fox after two seasons. Despite that it was a critically acclaimed show that won an Emmy(s) earlier this year.

Not a fan of that show either, but they could've axed some lame reality show like "American Idol" instead since I'm sick of theat genre. Atleast "The Simple Life of Paris & Nicky" got canned for good.

A friend of mine was a die hard fan of 7th Heaven, that show has been on since like 1996.  It apparently is the Longest running family drama in TV History in terms of seasons/years.  I'm really surprised it's getting canceled after this season, because I know that the ratings for the show get higher and higher each year

As for Arrested Development, I never even watched it and I never cared for it at all. So, Good riddance

I'm very glad however that they did not cancel the new FOX show "Reunion" yet. I've heard the ratings were not so great for it, but thankfully it can stick around

It's a shame Arrested Development was axed.  I thought it was a great show.  Those stupid morons at FOX constantly gave it a bad time slot.  More people weren't watching it because it was up against other shows that were watched by millions.

I wonder if popular demand will bring it back?  It's happened in the past with other shows (ie: Cagney & Lacey)

maybe its for the better that Arrested Development only has 3 seasons....its less money I have to spend when I buy the whole series on DVD.  What an amazing series.  Unfortunatly, there arent enough people who like the think while watching sitcoms.  It was too intelligent a show for Fox's current audience (reality TV fans, etc).

Maybe if its picked up by HBO it will do well.

Never watched 7th Heaven, didn't notice it was still on.

Watched 2 of the 5 episodes of A.D. that were aired here. So not worried about that either.

Didn't really watch either of these shows, maybe a couple of episodes.

I'm glad 7th Heaven was cancelled...Im sure Ruthie was next to get pregnant and somebody else wouldve gotten shipped off to jail or something else really stupid would've happened...they let that show drag on 4 more seasons than it needed to.


Even though I never watched AD,  I feel sorry for Ron Howard...i really like him as an actor/director...its sad that his show had to get cancelled. Oh well, he'll think of something else; he always does.

I stopped watching it when they had that episode where they parrotted the lie of "You are 47 times more likely to shoot a family member than an intruder".  Bunch of socialist crap.

  I totally agree with you.... ARRESTED WAS AND IS AN AWESOME SHOW AND I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THEY WERE AXED.. FOR A SHOW THAT IS THIS WITTY AND SHARP FOR FOX TO PLAY THE SPOT GAME WITH THEM IS SICK.. I HOPE HBO PICKS IT UP!!!  It would be wicked funny on there and I think they would get a much better audience... I cannot believe the crap they keep on the air....

I never held much appeal to "7th Heaven" either. It just looked lamely acted and poorly written. I guess people will watch that kind of stuff, just like people watched "The Nanny" for 4 or 5 sickening seasons. 

Finally. I was getting sick of hearing TV Guide talk about how great "Arrested Development" is.

Now if only they can Cancel "The OC", then I can die a happy man  :)

I don't think The O.C. will get cancelled anytime soon.  There are alot of primetime drama fans out there, who would probably protest if FOX ever did decide to get rid of it.  LOL

Nicely said. I don't like the fact that the networks have taken out all the good shows and replaced them with crappy shows. And I detest reality shows too. ::)

I think reality shows are slowing fading off, except for American Idol I don't see a whole lot out there, both of the Apprentice shows are doing pretty bad, so is that dumb biggest loser show. Survivor still has a following, but I don't think it's as big as it used to be.

The problem with reality shows is, they are more one-off type shows. Each season of Survivor & Pop Idol all look the same, only with different "actors" or "singers".

Yea I think both American Idol and Survivor are just getting old, they are the same every year. American Idol has really only produced 1 real successful artist out of 4 (so far), that's Kelly Clarkson. I think Ruben and Fantasia are pretty much failures and not too well known anymore. Carrie Underwood's music doesn't seem like stuff that's going to be big hit material. I think the show is basically a failure.

Aiken did have some success in 2003/early 04, but I haven't heard a song of his on the radio in at least a year and a half. As for Kimberly Locke, I know that one song she had, but it wasn't a real big hit. None of them have gotten the airplay and exposure of Kelly Clarkson yet. I don't think I've ever heard a Ruben Studden song on the radio, Fantasia had some airplay in the spring though.

I was always hearing how Arrested Development was such a good show, yet not many watched it. I tried checking it out one time, but I didn't really understand it.

It's two bad holdsome shows likek 7th heaven get axed, when such bad dysfunshional stuff stays on polluting our minds.

I'm not too familar with either, but I've watched a few episodes of 7th Heaven occasionally (mostly when not much else is on, LOL). They do seem like a nice family - it has some good points at times and is kinda entertaining, but there was a definite unrealistic and unpleasant-ness to it.

The parents just seemed so unhip, old fashioned and strict, not to mention the kids were whiners (although I suppose if I were in their shoes, I would be too). I remember the preacher dad once speaking out against swearwords, as if they were the end of Western Civilization. Reminds me of John Lithgow's character in Footloose. ;D

I've seen one and a 1/2 episodes of "Arrested Development" and didn't care for it...  :P

There's very few shows I like now, and most are animated sitcoms.
