How many 'sports' songs can you think of besides Take Me Out to the Ball Game?
I'll start:
Centerfield(Put me in, coach)-John Fogerty
Backfield in Motion(football)-Mel and Tim
Richard Petty Fans-Alabama(NASCAR racing)
Super Bowl Shuffle-'85 Chicago Bears
Theme from Chariots of Fire-Vangelis

Reach Out by Giorgio Moroder featuring Paul Engemann. It was the track theme to the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics and talks about competitors across the land competing to win the medal. Such a great song :)
The Hockey Song by Stompin' Tom Connors. A Canadian song that is quite famous across our nation
Rock 'em Sock 'em Techno - BKS featuring Don Cherry. A techno song featuring a voice over by good ol' Don Cherry, talking about that great sport called Hockey

The Brat - Chalk dust (The umpire strikes back), a song about tennis (or John McEnroe, to be more specific)
The race - Yello (which technically isn't a song, 'cause there's no singing involved)
Glory days - Bruce Springsteen (which mentions baseball)

N-N-Nineteen Not Out was the Commentators, which was a guise of Rory Bremner and was about cricket.
The tennis song you must be thinking of is the Brat's Chalk Dust - The Umpire Strikes Back , which was Roger Kitter.
Pat Cash, and John McEnroe were featured on a Charity record Rock And Roll released under the name of "Full Metal Rackets" in 1991).

Was that song meant as an antonym to "Life's Been Good." The narrator in each song couldn't be more different. I dunno, it's just something that occurred to me a while back.

there's a song about Muhammad Ali that has a line that goes like this"He's Muhammad, the black Superman" I don't know the title or artist though?
this is it, from 1975, by Johnny Wakelin & The Kinshasa Band
Muhammad Ali, The Black Superman
This here's the story of Cassius Clay
Who changed his name to Muhammad Ali
He knows how to talk and he knows how to fight
And all the contenders were beat out of sight
Sing, Muhammad, Muhammad Ali
He floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee
Mohammed, the black superman
Who calls to the other guy I'm Ali catch me if you can
Now all you fight fans, you've got to agree
There ain't no flies on Muhammad Ali
He fills the arena wherever he goes
And everyone gets what they paid for
Muhammad, was known to have said
You watch me shuffle and I'll jab off your head
He moves like the black superman
And calls to the other guy I'm Ali catch me if you can
He says I'm the greatest the worlds ever seen
The heavyweight champion who came back again
My face is so pretty you don't see a scar
Which proves I'm the king of the ring by far
Sing, Muhammad, Muhammad Ali
He floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee
Mohammed, the black superman
Who calls to the other guy I'm Ali catch me if you can
Sing, Muhammad, Muhammad Ali
He floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee
Muhammad, the black superman
Who calls to the other guy I'm Ali catch me if you can
I'm Ali catch me
if you can

Canadian hockey star Guy Lafleur did an entire album about hockey.
And it was 1979, which means it was disco.
And as much as I wish it were so, this is not an April Fool's joke.
