wow! Britney spears at #1? I didn't know the end of the world was so close ;D
Angel of Death should be higher. It's probably the pre-emminent thrash song there is.
Dylan rots.. he should stick to writing.
I feel like it's MORE sickening to see the King Of Molestation has 13 songs in there :P
And YES, Dylan SHOULD stick to writing ;)

I voted for Stairway To Heaven....for the memories it holds for me, Dust In The Wind by Kansas as it's not only a very sad song but was one of Blaine's faves along with mine and I finished off with another group who's end came WAY to soon, Alice In Chains with "Would"...not only for the lyrics but Layne's awesome voice :\'(

Just for the sake of it:
Queen - Bohemian rhapsody is currently #12
Britney Spears - ...Baby one more time is currently #99
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the silence is currently #79
I chose these ones not because I particularly like them (except for the third one). I only wanted to find out if any of these was in the top 10 ( considering Toxic is #1, wouldn't it be logic to suggest there's another Britney song in the Top 10 as well..?)
So...still no clue to what may be at #5 or #9... :-\\
But then - Top 10 may have changed completely by now anyway.

You guys could bag on Michael Jackson all you want. I'll be the first to admit that the guy is a freak. But you can't deny his musical talent. The "Thriller" album ranks as one of, if not, the highest selling album ever. Also some of the songs on it are true classics.
The list is the top 100 all-time songs not the top 100 all-time nicest, normal-est, coolest, musicians. The list would be incomplete if MJ didn't have a few entries.

The Clash - London calling only at 646?? What on earth. Who on earth is voting for this!!
51 is REM - Losing My Religion.
There is a Light That Never Goes Out By The Smiths is 1599 - why?

I meant Britney Spears
I must've read the list wrong since she's at #1, not #2
Unless it's a "worst" list

Hate to say it but "Baby One More Time" was Britney;s signature song and was the song that put the whole-teen pop thing on center stage in 1999 and 2000. I am happy to see DMOde's "Enjoy The Silence" on the list. They don;t still don't get the respect of iU2 and Duran Duran and that rock critcic on DModes "Behind The Music" episode on VH-1 said they were trying to sound like Soundgarden or Pearl Jam in the 90's. DMode never gets any respect. Any Phil Collins, or Stone Temple Pilots on the list? STP should be on the list since "Interstate Love Song" was their signature song. I;m not sure if "Interstate Love Song" was even their best song but its the song that people will remember them for when they think about STP. Hillary Duff is on this list? Is Alicia Keys's "Fallin" on this list as well?

Must've been those TRL morons who pushed B.S. into the #1 spot ::)
I like the rest, though I don't know what's #5 & #9... and since B.S. is #1, probably more bad songs ::) :P
Number one? Yeah, right.... ::) I would have to agree, the people behind TRL probally had a hand in making this list... ::)

It occurs to me that this survey won't be all that accurate, since it allows people to vote as many times as they want. But then, I suppose that's unavoidable with an Internet survey...

I guess we'll have to see what the top 100 looks like when the results come out on September 28.
The #1 song has changed, it is now Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. It's a song that definately deserves to be #1. It shaped the modern pop culture and the video was the first black video to gain regular airplay on MTV. It was a #1 hit worldwide in 1983, everyone was into it. But who wouldn't be? It has a driving bassline (one of the most memorable basslines ever written), mystifying chord progressions, a killer lift to the catchy chorud, great guitar licks etc. It's the best song ever written and to think Michael Jackson wrote it in his head while driving. Funny story, he was imagining the bassline and chords in his head and was so into the song that he didn't notice his car was on fire. Michael wrote the song about a girl who claimed he was the son of one of her twins (lol, how is that supposed to work?)
Great song, great artist (btw RNRF, Michael now has a total of 18 songs in the top 100, not 13). Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer to ever live, no can write like that, no one can sing like that and there definately aint no one who can dance like that. He is the best there ever was and this top 100 proves his mass appeal.

Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" 8)
A classic
It's about their music not their personal lives. :)
Or else I'd throw away my copies of "Risky Business" & "Mission Impossible" since I don't agree with Tom Cruise's beliefs.

They're in...
16 songs by michael jackson
A lot of spanish music, many of which are by artists I never heard of. Quien es carolina soto?
Britney spears over-repprented with "toxic" at #2
No rap. The closest it gets is "killing me softly" by the Fugees.

This list has seriously got to be a joke.
Mariah's 'We Belong Together' 8 places above 'Losing My Religion' by REM. You have got to be kidding me.
Oh my god...and Hillary Duff beafore Radiohead's 'Creep' . I am now speechless.

Probably got nothing whatsoever to do with it, but...

...MJ recorded for, er...Sony...
