Wichita, KS (AHN) - The man suspected of being the Kansas' most notorious serial murderer -- confirms it. Dennis Rader pleads guilty to 10 counts of murder, acknowledging he is the BTK (blind, torture, kill) killer.
Rader terrorized the Wichita area between 1974 and 1991, taunting police and the media by writing letters about the murders.
During his May 3 arraignment in Sedgwick County District Court, Rader did not make a plea. The presiding District Court Judge, Gregory Waller, automatically entered 10 not guilty pleadings for Rader, and set the trial date.
Rader was city worker and active church member until his arrest in Februrary.
The BTK killer evaded police for 31-years.
