My verdit: He IS Clark Kent. I mean, just look at him. :o
I LOVE how they are going for the classic, timeless look instead of trying to update him too much..
Plot:
"In this semi-sequel to the first two "Superman" films, the classic hero returns to Earth after having been missing for six long years. What he finds astounds him - the world he knew has changed for the worse. In his absence, the forces of evil have regrouped like never before. Even Lex Luthor, once an outcast, has risen to the heights of power in Metropolis. And when an old enemy from Krypton reappears, Superman must fight his neverending battle like never before, amidst a world that has forgotten what it's like to have a hero."
Note: No official synopsis has been released, so the above is tentative until further notice.
Release Date: June 30th 2006

Brando was paid millions for his 12 minute appearance in the first Superman film.

I don't know, Superman IV was obviously worse than 3. IV was generally considered to be a BAD movie.
This is picking up from II though, it discounts the last two sequels.

On Brando appearing in this flick: (what I read)
Brando was to appear in Superman II....in the scene where clark goes to the fortress of solitude and speaks with a "vision" of his mother...who tells him how to give up his powers to become human for Lois....
Originally that "vision" was to be Brando as his father...but he wanted too much $$ for the appearance, so they used footage of his mother instead. However, the footage with Brando still exists...and that is what they will be using as their footage in this sequel. I am sure they will doctor it up and use CGI or whatever to enhance it some....but thats basically what I read...

...and how has the estate of Marlon Brando reacted to this?

That seems very arrogant of you to assume it will be, bad. III and IV were no gems mind you, but Superman I and II are both classic films and I'd appreciate it if you didn't just drop smart alec comments like that without explaining why you think that.

Was it Superman II, but I would not call them goons.

I never understood why they never did another Superman film with Christopher Reeves.
I mean, they could have used digital effects to oversome the handicap for the movie. In the other movies they could make him fly. Or they could have worked with his disability with some sort of Kryptonite script.

For me it did not seem just for Superman is a super-hero, and is not truly portrayed in that way. By the way, for almost the same reason I refuse to watch the remake of Rear Window, that Christopher Reeve appeared in.
