Anyone know why he left? He was a favorite to take the title. I was real upset to hear this news. And now that means the Nikko is back.

I believe it had something to do with family matters but that's all I've heard about it anyways I'm glad Nikko is back.

I'm not 100% sure, but it could be for business matters. Look at the back-up singers credits for Michael Jackson's yet-to-be-released song 'Seduction'...
Back-up and chorus vocals provided by: Delardo, Forde, Hancock, R. Jackson, J. Jackson, Phillo, Robello, Vasquez.
I'm not sure if this is the same Vasquez, but Mario Vasquez has worked with Michael before on a song called "Whatever Happens" which was a latin/pop song. this new song "Seduction" also has a kinda latin/pop feel to it, so it'd make sense for Michael to hire some of the same people to do back-up and chorus vocals.
The song was recorded before American Idol started, so that'd give him no reason to opull out of the comp now, unless he was locked into a contract that means he can't do the competition if the song is released on CD during the comp. These sorts of things happen alot. Somtimes people record a song, and it doesn't get put onto a CD, but every musician and vocalist has to sign a contract incase it does make it onto a CD in the future. I guess MJJ Production are certain that Michael will be vindicated, why else would they allready have plans to release his new CD? Surely they don't expect people to buy a CD made buy a convicted pedophile. They must be certain he is innocent, or else they wouldn't be releasing it.

I have heard that he was a backup singer for MJ.
From what I heard, it was the contract AI makes them sign. He didn't want to. I guess it is pretty tough on the artists.

Why wouldn't they? Hell, John Wayne Gacy made more money AFTER he was convicted selling paintings and such than he ever did before he went to prison and he not only molested, but killed his victims. Prison art, literature & music are very popular.
but John Wayne Gacy had a gift...I bet if you look now someone is selling one of his paintings on eBay now, the band Acid Bath used one of his paintings on the cover of one of their CDs  :D

But, if Gacy had not been "The Killer Clown", I honestly don't think his paintings would've even made it to the "Travelling Art Shows" that frequent the Holiday Inn's in the Chicagoland area.
My mom heard that he may be called to testify in the MJ case so he wanted to give someone else a chance who may/may not have a "scheduling conflict" ::)
true it wasn't his artistic abilities that sold his art, it was the touch of macabre that went along with his name, his signature is always large and legible on his paintings, Mr Gacy is no longer with us, he was executed a few years back ;)

He witnessed Gavin (the accuser) running amok at Neverland and stealing liquor. Michael wasn't at Neverland at this time, but Mario thought he was, so he went to Michael's bedroom. Knocked. But no answer. So he let himself in and found Gavin masturbating to porn he found in Michael's room.
That's why he left American Idol. It has nothing to do with the contract he signed when he recorded 'Seduction'. I was wrong.
So why'd Mario leave Idol?
To win the case for Michael and set him free so that Michael can release 'Seduction', and Mario can recieve money for doing the back-up vocals.
Mario is Sneddon's worse nightmare. And to think, Sneddon actually thought it'd be easy to prove a lie. How wrong was he! ;D

Mario appeared on "Late Show With David Letterman" last night to give the "Top Ten Reasons I Left American Idol", but he stopped at #4: "Aw, screw it! I'm quitting this, too." ;D
I don't know if that was Dave's intent or not, but it sure was funny.

is that for real? I heard speculation about him appearing in the trial and that he did sing back-up which made the connection to MJ, but you sem to know more details. where did you hear this?

hey... i heard that he couldnt be on the michel Jackson case because he wasnt registered...
i heard that he might have dropped out because he got a deal with someone else so hes going to wait til the comp. is over (( the contract that they were made to sign two - three weeks ago lasts 3 months after the compition is over..)) and he might get a record deal with someone else beacuase he didnt like it..
i heard that the producer takes like 50% of the money the American Idol winners make...

Nope. He's on the defense witness list. But I don't know why he dropped out now because there's probably still months before the defence present there case. Although, we are getting through the prosecution's witnesses very quickly.
