Subject: Anyone been to or going to a concert......
Written By: bj26 on 03/09/05 at 2:00 pm
I saw an opera last week, Madam Butterfly, which to my surprise was beautiful. This Friday, I'm going to see Mark Olson and Gary Louris, the founding members of The Jayhawks on their first reunion since the guys split up in 1995. I CANT WAIT ;D

Ok, didn't realise we were talking about.. like ever.
2001 - Coldplay
2002 - Oasis
2003 - Sod All
2004 - I went to a massive festival called 'Download' at which i saw..
Metallica
Linkin Park
Iggy Pop
Machine Head
Korn
The Distillers
Trapt
Slipknot
The Hives
Him
Bowling For Soup
Electric Six
Soil
Life of Agony
and loads more.. There were a bunch of stages so whilst watching and listening to one band, you could hear and see another like several hundred yards away..
Of course the best bit of download is that Lars Ulrich was stoned ill and so Dave Lombardo & Joey from Slipknot both played drums for metallica.. which was awesome. Especially Dave Lombardo, they had to keep up with him ;D
2004 - Slayer & Slipknot together
2004 - Motorhead (awesome gig)
2005 - Dropkick Murpheys

These are all the Michael Jackson concerts I've been to...

1988

1997

2001
30th Anniversary Special, Madison Sqaure Gardens - New York
Besides Michael Jackson, I've also seen...
Green Day (just recently), Powderfinger, Prince, and Madonna. They've all been in Australia. The only time I've ever flown over seas to see a concert is for Michael Jackson. Either, because the concert is in someway special (like the 30th anniversary, or MJ & Friends), or my friends over in England want to see Michael Jackson with me. I'm over in England quite alot, I've got family, friends and business there, so it's no biggy for me to go to England for a weekend.

200 people crowded into the Dame on Friday for the show. A lot of the people I talked to were followers of the Minneapolis groups of the early/mid 90s, i.e. Trip Shakespear, the Replacements, the Jayhawks. Louris and Olson were great, I was maybe 20 feet from the stage perched on a wood bench. This one dude lit his Bic lighter, but he was the only one, lol.

I haven't been to a pop concert for years. One of the last groups I saw was The Stranglers. I have also seen Showaddywaddy (with me dad!), Gary Glitter, The D.amned, Doctor and the Medics, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Toyah and King Have dim memories of seeing The Cramps as well. that's all I can remember for now. The local Student's Union used to have some good concerts on so I went fairly regularly
