Subject: Cultural icons of the 2000s

Pretend you're a history/social studies student in the year 2090 (by which time we'll all be taught by robots) and are given an assignment to identify the main social and cultural icons of the 2000s: the first decade of the 21st century. Like the 70s were known for disco, flairs, the 80s for synths and crappy cars.etc what will the 2000s be remembered for? Of course being only half-way thru them it leaves a lot of conjecture, but does anyone have any predictions?
