we need more emoticons. the selection we have is limiting. i saw a vomiting smilie on another board that would do nicely here.

Emoticons, although strangley annoynig can help give an idea of the mood of the poster (angry, sarcsastic, Shocked)

It usually depends on what kind of a mood I'm in. But I would never overdo it and put 20 or 30 smileys in a post.

I went with 4...it can get annoying when there are tons of smilies.  It doesn't slow my dial up down, though.

The only things i find annoying are.. wadda they called Gifs.. *cough*mark*cough* because they slow the page down even with DSL

Like a few have already said, it depends on the message I am trying to convey or my mood. When I typing a long post (which I have been known to do from time to time), I may include one or two at the end of a sentence to get my meaning across more clearly. I usually to three at the end of a post like this:

I've seen some boards with more emoticons than members, but I agree, we could use a few more kinds of smilies!
