Subject: Family Guy and Futurama
Written By: Rhiannon on 02/04/05 at 12:50 pm
Calling all fans! So glad Family Guy is returning to FOX due to popular demand...just wish the same could be said for Futurama.
A few fave quotes:
"Lois, Who's the Boss isn't a food!"
"I can name all 51 states in 30 seconds....Waah!"
"I've licked my share of peanut butter but..."
"Giggity, giggity, giggity, goo!"
"Does anyone smell Astroglide?"
"Fix it, fix it, fit it!...Fix it!"
"Kiff, I'm feeling the Captain's itch!" "I'll get the powder, sir"
"Could you say it a little more sexfully?"
"I have sexlexia!" ;D

I actually only really got into Family Guy quite recently, but I'm still a bigger Simpsons fan.

Woooo Family guy ranks in the top shows of the past forever. It's hilarious. I own every single episode on DVD and am on the edge of my seat waiting for the new ones.
Steve is obviously the best however Peter has his great merits. Death is also one of the better chracters.
Futurama is good and i also own most of them on DVD but it dosen't even come close to Family Guy.
Futurama does however totally rival the simpsons because of it's more in your face attitude. I LOVE BENDER! BENDER IS MY ROLE MODEL!

I recall quite a few scenes in Futurama featuring Fry and Leela near the end of the series that were very romantic for an American cartoon (The scenes remind me of ones involving Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru and Sailor Moon/Usagi). One of my favorite episodes of Futurama had to be the one where Fry gets stung by a bee and Leela goes into a trippy coma.
I was actually suprised to see that the crew of Futurama could write and animate emotional scenes as well as satire. I used to think that the crew working on The Simpsons could do it back in the early days ('Mother Simpson' being one of the most emotional episodes), but now they don't even try anymore.
