It's almost an unfair comparison between the two because they are both very different in every respect.

I will say that I have noticed a heavy backlash against Jennifer Lopez with little to no objectivity. Tabloids are simply yellow journalism and their power shouldn't be made so great as to be an authority on celebrities, their lives and personalities. One shouldn't assume they know a celebrity based on such.

I do think J-Lo is very pretty. She has great facial features and her body is desireable/enviable; to the point where people with money to burn are getting buttocks implants and such to look like her. Yes, there are a lot of sheep out there. ::)

In my opinion, what I don't like is the way she speaks and I'm not sure if it's her accent or ghetto dialect she can't seem to shake in her real life. Her music's alright, not too crazy about today's music in general anyway.

So that's my rambling on that.

Debbie Gibson was cute as all get-out in the 80's and her hits were catchy and good, for the most part. However, in my opinion, today she seems to be trying too hard in all depts. She wants to be taken seriously as an adult with the use of her full name Deborah, her attempted sensuality reads of marketing strategy as does her upcoming playboy stint. Unfortunately, all of these changes are protocol for ex-teen stars crossing over into the adult genre. See, I think she should have just kept herself as Debbie, embraced her former popularity with pride and continued to build on it, instead of trying to erase it all. It's still possible for her if she took a chance and did the opposite of what her agent recommends.

She's not cute anymore, in the way she used to be. I don't particularly find her to be very attractive either; just not my cup of tea.


I am an 80's buff and in the 80's I would have picked Debbie.

It's her NASTY lifestyle.  No regard whatsoever for the vows of marriage (either hers or anybody else's).  She was married to Chris Judd for a very short time and was already sleeping around with Benuflect.

She has alot in common with the Statue of Liberty, if you know what I mean.  ;)

I would also state that Deborah Gibson is waaayyy better than Madonna (post 1990, mot including the infamous banned video), but I happen to like the former Material Girl's material from the '80's.  :)

Okay, so personal lives aside Deborah still has way more class the J-low. Deborah is an accomplished Broadway actress and she also writes and performs her own songs. J-low doesn't even come close, talent wise or as a decent human being :P
