Ford's doing pretty good for 2005, with what, 5 new models?
For me, this one would do just fine...

The new Ford GT
Let's see:
Engine...5.4 L V8. (the hell with Metric BS, that's around 334 cu.in.)
Horsepower...550 @ 6500 rpm (and we all need a car with over 500 horsepower!)
No mention of gas mileage. Let's just assume less than 20 miles per gallon. ;D

I avoid any Ford vehicles like the plague, since I nearly died from anti-freeze leakage in my 1983 Escort a while back. If I ever do get another car, it'll be a Toyota or Saturn.

Import cars are way cooler IMO. Not that I don't like Mustangs, and Camero's, it's just that I'm an import guy. ;)
Check out this Supra. :D

Nothing real life threatening, but there was anti-freeze coming out from under the heating vent. I didn't have air conditioning. To make matters worse, there was dust coming up whenever I turned the heater on. I tried to fix it several time to fix the vents and the radiator, among other things. I have it fixed just in time to trade it in for a Geo Prizm, which I traded for the Doge Neon I financed and currently own.
What happened?

For a long time I really wanted a Subaru Impreza WRX (and still haven't ruled it out--I test drove one last year and thought it was AWESOME) but when I saw the new 'Stang I thought it was the coolest new car I've seen in ages. Next summer I'll test drive them both and see what I think but the Mustang looks way cooler.

I don't like Fords at all, but I have to admit that Mustang looks cool. It's the best Mustang model they've come out with since...........................well, since the late 60s, go figure. :)

I've got a good deal lined up on a '99 Crown Vic (63,000 miles, $6500) so if it holds up as well as my Merc I probably won't be needing to look for a new car for a few years. How's your shopping coming along?

Love the new Mustangs, it's a shame GM killed off the Camaro/Firebirds, the old rivalry could have continued

You yanks should consider yourself the 'Lucky Country'. The cheapest cars (especially V8s) in the civilised world. I heard they're selling the BMW M5 for a mere US$71,000 - which is beyond absurd. When it is released here it will cost somewhere in the region of AU$220,000 (about US$140,000).

I've heard rumors that GM is planning to build either a new Camaro or Chevelle for 2007-08. No plans for a new Firebird though.

After reading what you wrote I looked it up online and found a few articles about it. It sounds like GM won't say for sure what they're up to. I found this picture of what I suppose somebody thinks the new car will look like. That would be a bad a$$ car. Looks like the 60s model.

I had a '77 280SL when I was in the Army over in Germany. (I bought it for $400 from another GI back in '91, I'm sure it had gone through at least 10 other soldiers before I bought it.) I once got it up to about 140 mph on the autobahn before I backed out of it--I'll bet it would've done at least 160-170, no B.S. That thing would cruise effortlessly at 100 mph all day long.
My dream car is a BMW M3.
