Getting off the topic a bit but I really think that it is really pitiful when athletes and entertainers get paid boocoo bucks and people like firefighters, and emergency teams get paid very little-if at all. Many are volunteers. It just shows what is wrong with the priorities of this country.

Yes, you are right but I don't pronouce it beaucoup (bo-coo)- the French word for a lot, as I do boocoo (as in the Halloween "boo")-which is my word for "more than a lot". It is my Americanization of the French word (no offense to our French speaking friends). That is why I spell it that way. It is one of my made-up words.

Yeah, but that is mild compared to Pedro Martinez.  He has said before that he hits batters
intentionally.  He tells them right out that he is gonna.  When he hit A Rod the other night
every Sox player and fan knows that that wasn't an accident., he hit two players that night and
should have been tossed.
And about the pay, people complain about how much the players make, I think it is overboard
but I don't pay there salaries, they are paid by their corporations.  It always seemed foolish
to me for people to compare the salaries of entertainers(that's what they are) with the pay of
civil servants.  Better to compare the pay of civil servants to the pay of other civil servants,
like the pay/benefits of a teacher compared to a state rep, or nursing home/home health aids
as opposed to firefighters.

I agree about Pedro...but the reasons I dislike "Pay" Rod...it's because he fierst left some very loyal fans in Seattle for more money in Texas....then left a decent Rangers team for the yanks. Okay, so  he wants to win, I understand, but he pulls that crap the other night then denies he did it. Yeah Pedro is wrong but at least he doesn'y deny what he does. A-Rod is a liar ::)

I agree.  It especially irks me when they whine that they aren't making enough money.  Whatever, I just would like to see them try to live on my salary.
