The other things in the poll only offend me in the context of inane or stupid dialogue that expresses materialistic, prejudiced, crude, disrespectful, and generally crummy values.

You mean, you don't like the representation of blood and organs, even when it's cut-out animation! Not saying there's anything wrong with that.  Never underestimate the power of suggestion.  A good writer can conjure images with the printed word that will scare you half to death!

I was going to say that, actually. I don't care about nudity, sex, violence, drug use, swearing, etc. They're a part of everyday life, but inane storylines, plots that beggar belief and scripts that treat the viewer like idiots annoy me terribly.

I went for "Other"... what bothers me most on television is inane brain-free reality TV shows, where presenters with minimal talent showcase mundane and stupid people doing nothing worth watching.

nope...i can't watch anything dealing with blood, whether it's a guy getting his head chopped off or just a doctor dressed in scrubs about to enter the O.R.  (although i didn't have too many problems reading JTHM...maybe it's just the colors that affect me?)  i don't mind reading books with that sort of stuff as much because i can just tell my brain to stop before i completely gross myself out.

I'm discouraged that we've made an icon out of a billionaire big boss man pointing his finger and shouting "You're fired!"  We are witnessing the Uncle Tomming of America.  Very sad.

Other:  I'm offended by the lack of sex, violence, drug usage, nudity, naughty words, smoking, and drinking available in over-the-air broadcast content in America.

Eric Idle (of Monty Python fame) put it best in 2004, with the FCC Song.  The story behind the song is more offensive to me than anything I've seen/heard over the air.  If the airwaves are a public resource, then the FCC's role should be limited to the allocation of bandwidth/spectrum resources, not attempting to impose prior restraint on content.

I chose other because there's other things that gross me out on T.V. (Especially what they did to the cable networks.)
