Subject: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Well, while some are just plain greedy (A-Rod) and others are on drugs to enhance play...Giambi to name one...and some are BOTH (Barry Bonds)....like it or not the season has begun....at least the Cubs and Tigers started with victories yesterday. Today I hope my Rockies can overcome Randy Johnson and the Arizona Diamondbacks :)

Its too bad that Pete Rose was not a raving, strung-out drug addict. If her were, he'd be in the Hall of Fame by now.

Go Cubbies!

Go Braves going for #13 in a row.
Question is will they be able to get thier 13th straight division title and I think if their pitching holds up then they will win the division but if the pitching doesn't hold up then they don't, that simple.
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Rockies actually won 6-2 last night! I hope they do the same again tonight....
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Go Expos! Got a nice little rivalry brewing with the Marlins.
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Go, Orioles, please! ;D
And I hope the Tigers are improving too.

I really won't rub it in that the Mets beat them last night 7-2 in the season's opener. ;)

They're down 6-0 now ;D Looks like the Mets finally got their heads on straight.

The Braves came back scored 11 runs in the 4th and won 18-10. :D

I've always been a fan of the Dodgers, mostly because they're my local team. They won their first game last night, beating the Padres 5-4 (after being down 4-0 at one point). And who would have thought Eric Gagne would get the win?
Right now they're in the bottom of the 9th with the score tied at 1-1.

Rockies got hammered 9-5....oh well.

Last night I found this website that lets you (somewhat) watch the games in action. You don't actually see the players but it does tell you everything that is going on in the game. It helps when the games are not being televized. Check it out.

The Bosox pounded the O's again 10-3. Let's hope the Birds can overcome the heavy Red Sox's pitching.

I just meant that over the last few years, they haven't exactly lived up to their promise :(
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
It's cool to see the Tigers start off well but really disappointed to see Seattle start off so poorly. Freddy Garcia looked good the other night but their bullpen looks weak right now. Growing up in Detroit I'll always have the Tigers in my blood but since I live in Washington now I follow the Mariners with my boys - who are big fans.

Well, my Cubbies beat the Braves 2-1 last night in 15 innings.
Their pitching needs some work, though...they gave up like 10 walks. Not a good thing if you want to do well this season.

So do I, Cat. In fact they are behind 2-1 in the 8th inning!
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
So the Dodgers fail to sweep the Rockies, losing 4-2 yesterday. On the plus side (at least how I see it), the Angels avoid getting swept by the Texas Rangers; I knew Bartolo Cologne would set them straight.
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Yes..the braves lost to the Cubs again yesterday! Also the Tigers got back on the winning track AND my Rockies finally figured out how to win again, beating L.A. :)

Why is it that when I seem to stick up for something I always seem to be the only one sticking up for it? From Manson to the Braves.
One reminder, even though the Braves have started 3-4 (same as the Yankees did) this year, you can't forget that last year the Braves started very poorly and were even in last place at one point but still turned it around and ended up with the best record in baseball last year.

Okay... but I myself am kinda tired of seeing the Braves and Yankees dominating year after year; I'm sure the Mets or the Marlins or the Phillies or even the Expos would love to win the division title in the NL East.
By the way, some of you probably know that Barry Bonds finally hit his 660th career home run yesterday; one more and he'll be in 3rd place by himself on the career home run list. ;)

If the pansy opposing teams would pitch to him like they pitch to Sosa or Pujols :P Problem with Bonds is that he's so good, NOBODY wants to pitch to him...if they did, he'd have about 150 homers on a normal season's AB total :P

Rockies beat Arizona in thier Home Opener, 7-4 yesterday!
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Wasn't too thrilled about the Cubs getting hammered in their own backyard by the hated Pirates yesterday. But the Reds hopefully can maintain their good start and at least make NL Central an interesting race.
Subject: Re: Major League Baseball Season 2004
Rockies hammered Arizona yesterday 10-4! I'm just happy that they're at .500....
