Subject: Pink portraying Janis Joplin in biopic
Not some sick late April Fool joke. :-/
I've read that pop singer Pink, real name Alicia Moore, will play Janis Joplin , as a teen, on a biographical film. :P
The late Janis Joplin will be played by Renee' Zelweggar. :-/
Production starts in this summer.

Upon reflection, this is an inspired choice, assuming of course that Pink can act.

That's like getting Pee-Wee Herman to play Teddy Roosevelt. Are you SURE somebody's not putting over a joke?

Well there ARE similarities between Joplin and Pink. Both are/were pretty NASTY looking, and both sing as if they gargled with dry brillo pads.
As for Renee playing the grown-up Janis, I can see that. She could pull off the look, I think.

LMAO!!!! ;D

Ooh, I just realized why this is such a bad idea.
The life story of Janis Joplin is a story of pain. Pink spent an entire album trying to portray a person who has experienced intense pain, and she didn't convince me she had even suffered a hangnail in her entire life.

Renee Zellweger can both sing and act, so she could pull off grown up Janis. I don't see Pink as anyone other than Pink.

Especially as for "body type". Pink is a MUCH bigger-boned person than Janis was. Renee's body type is much closer to Janis'.

Why do they have to make a biopic about every rock star? Remember the Doors movie? Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison? Gimme a break!
If you want to learn about Janis Joplin, get some of her records and listen to 'em! Whatever movie they make ain't gonna do her justice.
