Subject: Fashion/Fads of the 00s.
the 00s is all about:
Cornrows
Headbands
Tattoos
diamonds
ecko
south pole
Rocawear
airforce 1s
stopping your pant legs with wristbands (shoe showing)
baggy pants
Loose shirts
Doing anything with your hair which involves gel
Cell phones
Jerseys
Jordans
TImberlands
Chappele's show
Racism
wristbands
etc.
What other things you can think of? U like these trends, etc.?
Subject: Re: Fashion/Fads of the 00s.
sounds like basically just a rerun of the 90's.
Subject: Re: Fashion/Fads of the 00s.
The "Battlebots" craze. :P
And that dumb cartoon about a certain sea sponge.
Subject: Re: Fashion/Fads of the 00s.
I'm 17 and I see like all the kids wearing this south pole crap and ecko stuff. I didn't know what ecko was until I looked it up online. And south pole never heard of it until i saw people wear it. I won't even get started on that abercrombie prep garbage. Clothing in the 00s sucks, plain and simple. Its all ghetto rap style, which is not me. Though i like some rap and hip hop music, i don't like the clothing.

Hipster trousers (pants), G-strings & crop tops. Lovely on the right shape of lady, but responsible for some strange disfigurements (double bums, knickers halfway up backs etc) on those ladies whom purchase items that, shall we say, do not quite fit them correctly. Blessing or scourge, ladies? :-*

I have observed a lot of people wearing stuff with letters on it, and kids are wearing shirts that say "college" which I don't understand when they're in high school... ::)and lots of people are wearing pink and black (guys and girls).

im already tired of the Denim comeback of the early 00's. Something about dark denim just irks me. But it doesn't look like its gonna die anytime soon. Some people keep saying everyone is still wearing the same old 70s stuff just like in the 90s, but i dont know, i was in high school 98-02 and the look just seems different than it was for most of high school. Maybe it's just different things from the 70s coming back at different times.

:DWell, there's light at the end of the tunnel.50s stuff is slowly making a comeback---the full skirts and fitted tops,as well as Asian inspired stuff, which is good for me cause i have a long body and kind of fine bone structure. And i like seeing colors besides blue, white and grey!Like salmon, olive, chartreuse, vermillion, gold, carnation, chocolate brown, jade, and sea green.I already wear sweater sets and vintage jewelry1Cheers!

Like all decades, fashions come in varieties. The "ghetto-fabulous" style of the '00s is just one of the many assortments of fashions, with its roca-wear, and ecko, etc.
*Reality TV(The Apprentice, American Idol, Survivor, The Bachelor)
*Boot-Cut Pants(Flared trousers, while they might be "bellbottoms," they aren't refered to them as that.)
*Pastel and bright colors(blue, orange, brown, green, red, and pink are a few colors)
*Cell Phones(also Text Messaging, known as Texting)
*Statement Tees(A T-Shirt or Tee that has a written or pictoral statement on it)
*Stonewashed, Wiskered, and Torn Jeans(Dark jeans are the style, lighter jeans might get a stare or two.)
*Skirts(especially Short and Pleated, pink and black are common colors. Patterns, such as plaid, stripes, and floral patterns are also popular. Longer, Knee-Length skirts are also popular, yet less. Full-length skirts that touch the ankle are not-at-all popular.
*Retro & Funkadelia(Retro becomes stylish more and more daily. Wing-like collars, Two-Tone stripes, paisiley, etc.)
*Black
I could go on forever listing fads and trends of the '00s, specifically 2004. But to sum up the fashion, it seems very colorful and fluffy. '70s and '80s inspired definitely. If you want more about fashion, I would go to fashion websites, or just go to the mall. As for TV, and pop. culture. Definitely, Hip-Hop, Pop and the John Mayer Genre.

a couple things that rarely get mentioned for some reason..
Harry Potter
Superhero movies
its kind of a weird time, the late 90s fads keep dieing and it seems not a lot is coming to replace them...i wonder what NBC is going to do when Friends and Frasier end? hopefully not go the Fox route and bombard us with tons of crappy Reality series.

Personally, I love the low rise jeans, mostly because they don't rub on my ribcage when I sit down (okay, it's because they make my butt look smaller:P). That said, I don't wear the ultra-low or have my thong showing. It's amazing to me that someone can put on a pair of low-rise pants and a shirt that's 2 sizes too small, have their "love donut" hanging out, which is being "bondaged" by their thong, and think it looks good. ::)
Oh, and girls, bra straps do not look attractive when hanging out of your tanktop. Just my opinion, though.

I reckon it's each to their own, which is a good thing; I just think sometimes people should think about what they look like in clothes, rather than just if their clothes are in fashion or not, when choosing what to wear. By the way, if a PC answer can be made, can someone tell me what a "love donut" is?? I think the phrase may have different connotations where I come from... ;D
