Subject: Dale, Jr. and The Daytona 500
Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally wins the Daytona 500. He passed Tony Stewart on lap 181. The race was marred by a 12 car pile up that took former champions Michael Waltrip and Sterling Marlin out, among others. Did anyone see the race?

I saw most of it..off & on. Glad to see Jr. win it, exactly 6 years later to the day that his Dad won it for the first time.
Michael Waltrip sure took a 'wild ride!' :o

I saw some of it, c an you provide a quick overview of the whole race, my favorite is Bobby Lebonte, what happened to him?

That was a GREAT race! Of course it was especially for me seeing that Jr. is my favorite ;) Bobby finished 11th :-/

My driver,TONY STEWART,had his best ever finish at Daytona-second place!

Is it just me or did everyone seem like they knew he was going to win the ''nextel'' cup. I worked for Nascar when I was 19 and they sold winston brand cigs which is how I found the love of my life. I'm calling it the winston cup no matter who owns it.....DANG YOU TRUTH PEOPLE

I watched like the first 50 laps. My favorite driver Rusty Wallace fell out in a crash. I hope Rusty has a good day at Rockingham tommorow. Really need a good finish tommorow. I'm kinda glad Goodyear made a tire that wears out quickly. That should benefit Rusty this week.

You certainly have a right to feel strongly about it...especially since something good actually came from those cancer sticks...but it's all about the money....I hate the way corporate names are in seemingly everything now....It will ALWAYS be the Firecracker 400 to me....or is it 500... ???

I think NEXTEL will definitely help NASCAR become even more popular than it already is...they will be able to market it to a YOUNGER audience, something Winston could not do for NASCAR because of the ban on TV and radio ads and the current anti-smoking climate! And Tony's 2nd place at Daytona has been a long time coming,he has had awful luck in the Great American Race as far as crashes and engine failures go...

I think lots of people have outdated and just plain DUMB ideas about NASCAR,it's superstar drivers, and its loyal fan base(which I'm proud to be a part of!) First, not all fans are not 'redneck trailer trash',I live in a CONDO,thank you!! I have MOST of my teeth. And I'm NO 'redneck'-would a 'trailer trash' person have enough $$$ for a new Compaq Presario,or even know how to use a computer for more than AOL? And I am far from stupid. I made the honor roll for two semesters in high school!
