Subject: Judging from the recent threads in this area
I think it wouldn't hurt to remind people to READ THE RULES OF THE BOARD BEFORE POSTING
http://www.inthe80s.com/rules.shtml
Just because personal attacks are tolerated at other forums doesn't mean they are supported here. Name calling, insulting people, etc. I deleted one account tonight already and blocked an IP address because the political discussions in the 2000s board is getting out of hand. If you can't debate without name calling, go somewhere else, it's not tolerated here.
The last complaint I got from someone was pretty pathetic. Because his hate filled tirades were deleted, he assumed I belong to the opposing view, and that's why they were deleted. Yet a quick overview of this board should show pretty much every political bent is covered here. His personal attack messages in the instant messenger system were the icing on the cake for his ban from the system (and he won't be missed).
I'm going to get a lot less discriminating about topics that get deleted and posts that get deleted until things settle down again in this board.

Yeap. Evidently offending posters didn't heed my warnings earlier this week. A shame, really.

Thanks Chucky and Hairspray.
I like the way you clean house :)

Curtis Lowe said he 'left' because he couldn't trust the moderators.
I tried to get in touch via e-mail to back you people up because you do a very good job IMO. I also wanted to see him come back because he seemed alright to me.

Yeah, he sent me an email telling me he was leaving, calling me a liberal or a liberal basher, I don't remember which. I then logged into the system and saw a couple complaints about his behavoir, and figured it was better to insure that he left permenantly. I'm guessing he figured he was going to leave anyways, so he began leaving insulting messages to people he disagreed with.
Up until this week, I had zero problem with this person, and than suddenly in the course of two days I had to remove postings and field complaints. In the past, I was a little more lenient with people like this, but going forward I'm certainly not.

ok... I locked the topic after deleting all the junk... clearly CurtisLowe is nothing more than a troll after all (I was giving him the benefit of the doubt up until last night). Ignore his posts when he comes back and they'll get deleted as soon as they're spotted.
