Subject: A question for our British friends !
Can somebody please fill me in on the reality series being filmed here ? I heard a news report that John Lydon has fled the country in a huff. :-/

You mean 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here'.
John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) left the show because he's arrogant enough to believe he was certain to win and wanted to give the other people a chance of winning. That was what he told some of the contestants before he left.
Ant and Dec (don't know which is which!) interviewed John afterwards but I missed part of the interview so don't know if he gave other reasons.

I think Johnny Rotten left the show because "It's better to burn out than it is to rust"

I'm certain I read somewhere (the papers are so full of this junk, you can't help but stumble across it!) that he was somewhat peeved about the 'voting-off procedure'...
Begs the question, did someone not point out the finer points of the shows' rules before he signed up?
Not sure whether the programme makers will sue him, I assume he or his agent must've drawn up a contract (which he's obviously breached...)
When does it end? Monday? Thank gawd for that!

Is that the name of the show ?
What is it about ??? As it's not being aired here, I am completely clueless.

I'm not British, but I hope everything turns out OK for them.
Speaking of Britain, does anyone think
Ringo Starr looks alot like PLO Arch-Terrorist Yasser Arafat?

This is the second or third series of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
A bunch of 'celebrities' (I'm not to sure who one or two of this years bunch are!) live in a camp somewhere in AUS (possible Queensland). Each day someone has to do a challenge to win the food for the day. The viewing public phones in to choose who is going to do the challenge. They are usually gross challenges such as having your shorts filled with various creepy crawlies or eating maggots, ants etc. The longer the celeb keeps going the more food for the whole camp they win. But if they don't like it they can say "I'm a celebrity ...." and the challenge stops.
After a week or so the public voting changes to be the least favourite celeb leaves the camp and (I think) this person chooses who does the next challenge. One celeb a day goes until there is the King (or Queen) of the Jungle left.
Hope that's explained it a bit

I saw some of the first series, but it was so rubbish I haven't bothered watching this one.
It's about an obviously fake jungle where a bunch of Z-list "celebrities" (you know, the kind who say to people "Don't you know who I am?!" when they plainly don't) have been put. It's a bit like a crappy version of Survivor. The "celebrities" have to do tasks called Bushtucker Trials (plenty of scope for double-entendres) to earn food for themselves. And the public vote off someone every day or so.
It's a truckload of horse faeces, really. But my sister loves it.
