Subject: How much time on this Messageboard is too much?
How much time to spend on this messageboard is too Much? or any messageboard, when does it become a addiction or nerdy, no offense to anyone.
Interacting with everyone here, and chatting with people here have brought meaning to my life,
Who here is my friend?
When did this messageboard start? ::)

forgive my harsh sense of humour above Andrew, I'm glad you're here and I'm glad you're enjoying it. I like to think we're all friends, although like "real World" friends we don't always agree on everything.

Lol Maddog. That British sense of humour is great isn't it?
In response to your thread, Andrew. I have been a little harsh with you myself. I don't mean to be.
I'm glad to see you on the boards. But do me a favour and get over 'Pam', will you? Even if it means watching TV programmes with Jillian Barberie in them. ;) ;D

Subject: Re: How much time on this Messageboard is too much
I would say when you start wearing "Depends" so you don't have to leave the keyboard to go to the bathroom and have breakfast/lunch/dinner delivered to the computer area, it's too much. ;D
Subject: Re: How much time on this Messageboard is too much
My opinion...".anyone who posts more than one topic in one discussion group a day is overdoing it""Also anyone who wants to make changes to a site which they do not own is overdoing it"I dont consider anyone here my friend just people who post their opinions. But I do respect people" by not posting so many topics and give everyone a chance to speak their mind.I just want to contribute not take over"I been here for almost a year and still love posting here most other boards I would have been bored by six months.
Subject: Re: How much time on this Messageboard is too much
I think Andrew is overdoing it.I like your opinions but posting way too much is like yapping a mile a minute.Anyway,I think your topics are great.keep up the good work. ;) :)

All I can say is DITTO to Child of the 80's comments other than the part about friends. After being here a couple of years, (not DAYS) and getting to know people, I have made some friends.
Anything else I'd post about Andrew's original post would be deleted in a nano-second.

I would love to hear your post on Andrew overdoing it.Anyone who makes Gentoos Penguin in one month..... ::)

Andrew has issues. I ask that you be patient and let him get it out of his system.
Ignoring many, not all, of his posts may be the best bet.
Just reply to his posts with a measure of substance and to those which are not repetitive.
No one likes to talk to themselves in threads. ;)
Andrew,
I'm hoping you are working on your issues. We mods would hate to have to start locking or deleting excessively repetitive threads.
Oh and we get your point on suicide. Let it go.

I guess maybe I was being a little harsh on him. It's just that when I see him talking about the Afterlife,it makes me think.I'm sorry about that. :(

No apology necessary. I totally understand the frustration some are feeling in reference to Andrew and his posts.
For everyone's benefit, I will repost this:

In the meantime, the rest of us have to walk on eggshells or not enjoy the board due to one person's "issues". Issues, I add, that are referred to in almost every post he makes or thread in which he participates.
I'll be the one to say it - one person has comandeered the site.
It's like trying not to notice a pink elephant in the living room.

No walking on eggshells necessary. He seems perfectly aware of his issues and seems comfortable putting it all "out there" regardless.
We've already pmed him in reference to the matter.
Is ignoring his posts and threads that difficult?
Folks, let me know, by all means.

Im just making a suggeestion not trying to be nasty.Maybe ahe can have his own discussion group by using one of the areas that isnt used as much. Then he can post all he wants and give him some control in it.
Subject: Re: How much time on this Messageboard is too much
Some of the veterans of the site know we go through spurts where we get the one or two over-excited posters who calm down after the first few hundred posts.

An idea is an idea, but we cannot create a playground for the shunned.
I would like to think that most here have the capacity to move forward and either understand or ignore.
It can be that simple.
Again, he's already been told. Let's move beyond this point, shall we?

That's fine, Hairspray.
I have heard a term over on other sites called 'Post whoring' and it means posting comments for the sake of posting to boost numbers of posts and therefore ranking within the forum. An example is saying 'yes' or 'no' to a question without saying why or repetition.
I don't understand why people would want to do this. I would want to be considered a person with interesting things to say with few posts than a bore who has become a Gentoos Penguin within a month with little to say (not saying that Andrew is).

You know, in 1990 they caught a hacker in the USA who was living pretty much like what you are saying. ::)

I just wanna have fun posting BUT when his actions start dictating the site its not fun anymore.Im sure you set up this site for people to have fun.Lets hope he gets it out of his system.I'll leave it at that....for now.

Yeah, there seems to be a theme going on with his postings ie, "Whenever I see this girl, I've got this pain," followed by "Your concepts of the afterlife". Seems likes he's obsessed about Pam.....

Man, I expressed my love for tuna fish cream cheese and dorito sandwiches quite a few times on the boards, does that make me a "Post Whore?" ;D
(All of my answers were relevant to the topic though)

No that doesn't make you a post whore, Null and Void. I'll give another example; Someone wrote a thread saying something like 'Has anybody seen this programme and could anybody tell me what I have missed'.
If I know I haven't seen a programme, I don't reply as a rule but Andrew wrote a post saying 'Sorry I missed it as well'. It's posts that don't take the thread any further and are there for the sake of it.
At least you stated a preference for a particular type of food. :)
Just to add: To be classed as a 'Post whore', you would have to be doing this kind of thing all the time.
Subject: Re: How much time on this Messageboard is too much
I got another idea how about he can just post one topic a day.If he wants to add another topic it has to be under the same post. That way he can say all he wants and he wont be taking up so much space.I think this should be discussed because it has become a serious issue. Its hard to just ignore him if hes constantly posting. Its not fair to us "veteran loyal" members who follow the rules and just want to have fun.
