The one I have now....not so much for what brand it is, but because the service (T-Mobile) is the best around. I had Cingular, which totally blew (horrible reception and outrageous prices).
The only reason I have a cellphone in the first place is because I have friends and family scattered throughout the country, and it's cheaper to have a cellphone than to pay tons of long distance. That and the fact that I talk to Rice Cube (who lives 100 miles North of me) at least three times a day. :-* I usually keep it turned off in public places and in the car. :)

My favorite cell phone is actually the one I just bought a few weeks ago, my Motorolla v60. Its so great!!!!
Its a little silver flip phone with all kinds of features on it!!
I have wanted it for awhile mainly because once I saw the one my best friend had, I wanted to throw my stupid little Nokia out the window and get the one like she had.
Anyways...........
I'll stop talking now.

Andrew,
I have a cell phone account with "T-Mobile". The package I chose has 600 "anytime minutes" per month, free long distance, free nationwide free roaming, 50 SMS messages, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, Voice Mail all for $39.99 per month (about $45 after taxes and crap). Minutes on weekends and from 9:00pm-7:00am on any day are "free".
They have a wide selection of phones. I have the Handspring Treo, which is a phone plus a Palm PDA. I have 750 contacts in my Rolodex so I need the palm capability). Cost me $250, but for a "road warrior" is handy. The typical person can get one of the entry "just a phone" jobbies for probably $50 if not for free.
If you are in need of a cell phone, they are worth a look.

With TMobile, you have to watch their coverage areas closely, though. My neighbor had one through them and couldn't even get reception in her house, even though we are "supposedly" in their calling area. Hubby and I both have AT&T and have never had a problem with dropped calls or coverage (well, except last week in 1 area of Kauai). He has their "digital one-rate" plan which means no roaming/ld charges, no matter where he is (which is good as he travels all over the country). Me, I just have one of the little plans, 300 anytime minutes, no ld charges, free nights & weekends.
As for phones, hubby has a Motorola v60 & I have a Nokia 8265(?). Hubby had his old Nokia for 5-6 years and never had a problem, he just wanted a smaller phone. My old Nokia was 3-4 years old, but died when my 2 yo threw it across a parking lot :P I'd say go with a Motorola or a Nokia, from my experience. Oh, with the v60, you have to watch the antenna, hubby snapped his off in Hawaii because it got caught in the seatbelt of our rental car.

Do you ever worry about the dangers of Brain Cancer from Cell phones.

Can't say that I "worry" about it. That said, I usually used the "hands free" headset, which keeps the antenna away from my noggin.
By the way, what is the meaning of "Talking Walnut" in your name? ;D

I don't use mine that much, have never even come close to using all the minutes, but I still wouldn't worry about it.

You look at them, look at something else, then quickly look back at them. And, as far as earpieces go, in many states now, if you are in a car, you are required to have a "hands free" headset. Most people just get so used to them they use them all the time. It actually is much easier, especially if you need both hands to do something, because you don't have to hold the phone up to your ear or break your neck holding it against your shoulder.
