Subject: A Co-Worker Died
I was going to let it slide, but I couldn't. A co-worker who worked in our division died of liver failure Friday morning. She was a diligent worker and a nice lady. She had helped in all of our lunch pitch-ins, either on holidays or special occasions. She got along with all of the other co-workers in our division. Apparently, she was waiting on a liver transplant, but her condition deteriorated so quickly that she was taken off the donors' list and died a few hours later. We still don't know of her funeral plans, and they could be private. This has dimmed the Holidays somewhat for me and my other co-workers and she will be missed by those lives she had touched. :'(

Dude, that really sucks. :'(
My condolences.

The loss of someone close is always hard.
But I always count on the fact of knowing they are in a better place.
Time heals all wounds.

I'm so sorry.

Thanks for all the hugs and empathy. :)
Her viewing is tomorrow afternoon from 12:00-2:00PM, and the ceremony is Wednesday. I usually just go to the viewing to pay last respects to the family. I've already been to my mother's funeral, and it's too much sorrow to go to another one. :(

I hate viewing caskets. When they just lay there so peacefully. You never know if they're gonna pop out and scare ya. :(

IndyGent,
My condolences. I also lost a coworker about a month ago in a car accident.
Howard,
My policy is to not view the body in the casket.
I prefer to remember them as they lived. :)
All that said, when I die I am either gonna have a closed-casket affair, or have myself laid out in a black suit with RayBan Wayfarer sunglasses, like the Blues Brothers. I have always worn black suits as my personal trademark. ;D

That's because I used to watch Horror movies and I got that weird idea.

Indy, my apologies, may her family get through this incident. :(

Indy, my condolences go to her family, and you as well as all of her coworkers. 10 years ago today, my older brother was killed in a car accident. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

:'(
My condolences to you, her family, friends, and co-workers.

Which is why I didn't go to the viewing. I didn't have a lot of leave either. But I pray for her family too.
