I was wondering if this would hit you guys. Good luck.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
what's strange, is the Boston area got hit harder than central mass... my girlfriend lives in Framingham, and I called her this afternoon and said something like "guess the forecasters screwed up again, I got like two inches not two feet" and she said guess what, we got far more than there here. My company's Christmas party was tonight, and I totally bailed on it (it did finally start coming down harder towards evening) which is too bad.

I'm out on the upper-east coast and we got 16 inches. I had to deliver pizza's in this yesterday. It was reaching times of more than two hours between when the order was placed and when I got to whoever's door.

Wow, that's scary stuff. I wonder why people feel the need to order pizza when the roads are so bad.

We have about 2 feet on the ground now and it is still coming down! :o We did have something we were going to go to today. I called yesterday to say that it looks like we weren't going to make it and was told that was postponed until SUMMER! lol So we are spending the day watching the snow fall. The only part about it that I don't like is that our Sunday paper hasn't arrived yet and there is a good likely hood that it won't. It is understandable but I do hope that we can get it eventually (maybe tomorrow or so).

That's really strange that you're getting all that snow because I'm just receiving a dusting up here in the 46 degree parallel.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
Snow...whats that. I live in Texas....we hardley ever get snow. Sleet yes. I would love to have a white Christmas...But I feel for you guys uo North...that is too much snow.
People that order pizza in that kind of weather is just plain lazy. Endanger the life of a stranger, than to go out and get your own. >:(
Hope it gets better.

Absolutely nothing here in Colorado Springs...in fact it was 71 yesterday and it's in the mid 60's today, but I hear that there's snow in Utah (Right Dagwood?) and if so we should get some tomorrow :-/

Now we have about 26 inches and believe it or not, it is STILL coming down-not hard but still. We are hoping that it stops snowing by May.

LOL Howard! I know, just keep bringing the snow into your bathtub, and let it melt there. That way maybe you'll be able to collect all the snow in your area, and make it disappear off the ground!!

On Friday it took me 2 hours to get to work. It usually takes me 30 minutes. It took me 1 hour to get back home. I work later in the day so I was like 1 hour late.
Where I live in Jersey there were alot of accidents on the New Jersey Turnpike. I think on the local news they said there were about 100 accidents on the Turnpike on Saturday.

We got hammered here in Anne's Land. 50cms(about 20 inches) down and winds are just howling. Even closed my office for the morning which is something the Tax dept hates to do. I've been trying to fly out for 2 days now and am still waiting so I came into work to play on the message boards.
Hell didn't even get the 50cms of snow off my road for 36hrs which isn't too big of a deal unless you need a fire truck, ambulance or pizza.
Ah life in Canada in the winter.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
Believe it or not, it FINALLY stopped snowing! We had a little over two feet but in some places they got up to 3 feet. :o I don't have to worry about shovelling. That is what I have a husband for. ;) Also, there are many people around here with plows so we just pay someone a few bucks to plow things out for us. BTW, we did finally found our Sunday paper-buried underneath at least a foot of snow-and that is on a covered porch.

I'm going to NYC for X-mas, how's the weather there?
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
Well, today started out as a cold one!! It's supposed to get better as the week progresses. Just assume that by Christmas it will be freezing and dress accordingly. I cannot stress earmuffs enough... And dress in layers

Well, yes and no. Mountains took a good beating yesterday, but we got rain in the valley (which is fine with me). Woke up this morning to a dusting of snow...mountains got beat again.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
You don't know the meaning of snow until you've had seven feet of it.
Although I love snow so it's no problem to me.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
You know what cracks me up every year after year regarding snow?
Well, we're in the upper midwest, so yes we get more than enough snow every year. So you would think everyone here would be used to it by now. However, every year when we get our first significant snowfall, there are a ton of people that suddenly forge how to drive in it, and cause a ton of accidents.
Makes no sense to me.

I know exactly what you mean. We had our first stick to the roads storm the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. People were tailgating me up one busy but very slick road...well, I have a two wheel drive pick up so it doesn't go well in the snow. Then again the 4-wheel drives were going slow, too. I turned onto a main road and luckily the idiot riding my bumper kept going straight because a little way up the road my truck slid sideways (I was going 10-15 mph)...that idiot would have hit me, instead I just rode the skid out and continued on. It was actually kinda fun. ;D

Yup-we have the same problem. What I think is totally asinine are these STUPID people who drive their vehicles on lakes. In the heart of the winter it is not too bad if there are several inches of ice. But, every spring, there is ALWAYS an article (or picture) in the paper about some vehicle (usually a pick-up or something heavier) that broke through the ice.

Word is we might have another snow storm on Wedneday on the East Coast. So drive safely and bring your scrapers for your car it could be another big one! Got about 2-3 inches of snow in New Jersey today washed away by rain in the late in the day. We are having flooding in some areas in the Northern part of NJ.
Subject: Re: stuck in the snow
There might be another storm. This one will be "wet".I'd tell ya,Decmeber weather in NY has been very busy.

It's funny you guys talking about all the snow while I'm sitting here with the air conditioner going in order to cool down! Have just had a week at the beach and the weather was glorious but at the moment it's showery and very, very steamy :( Today was around the 30 degree mark and it will just keep getting hotter until about the end of March. I'd love to experience a white Christmas one day.

Trust me, it's not all its cracked up to be. :)
One thing I always hear from people who dont get snow is that they want snow. Well, having lived through snowstorm after snowstorm, I hate snow.
I remember as a kid, I loved it because it was fun. But as an adult, its no fun having to scrape the car windows at 6:00am and drive and slide all over the road just trying to get to work or the store.
Snow Sucks. :)
