Subject: Another Rich Man Acquitted For Murder

Written By: Indy Gent on 11/14/03 at 06:04 p.m.

More than 8 years after the OJ verdict, Robert Durst was found not guilty of murdering a man that he claimed was an accident, then dismembering his corpse 20 minutes later. Of course, you could blame the prosecutors who didn't bother to charge him with manslaughter instead of murder. Or the jurors who were too confused to make a decision "beyond a reasonable doubt" (or a "shadow of a doubt"). He still has to face jail time for a separate crime. Your verdict?

I noticed there a was a lot of shocked legal analysists on the cable channels wondering how this verdict came to be.  Lets be honest, if you have the money to pay for good counsel, you got a much better chance of getting away with crime.
Freakin' wacko guy, thats for sure.

that guy's a psycho...i don't understand how dismembering the guy is an "accident," but maybe i'm stupid.  (apparently, a few other people he knew have "disapeared" ...his family is afraid of him because they think he might kill them too...)

slightly off-topic, but do any of you know how he was caught?  well, he was caught stealing a band-aid and a hoagie from a grocery store...he could hide a body, but he couldn't conceal a sandwich... ::) ???

I think it is ridiculous.  Self defense, I understand...but, IMNSHO, dismembering the corpse to hide it doesn't sound like self defense to me.

I second that.
