Subject: Is this wrong?

Written By: luvmechaparita on 11/02/03 at 07:57 p.m.

My "friend" was at a competition practicing her routine with another cheerleader. He lifted her, in a lift that was done often in the routine, and he slid his hands inside her bloomers. She says she talked to him about it and that he said it was the way the stunts were done. She tells me she is scared and that she doesn't know what to do. She doesn't want to tell her boyfriend either because she knows he will get mad. She has been through a lot in her life. (for example, she has been raped 3 times) Is this right? What should she do about it? How can she make it stop?

Hmmm...now I understand if he has to support her by the buttocks for this stunt, but I don't think the fingers have to go inside the bloomers or whatever they are.  The fingers shouldn't be INSIDE anything :-/

You could suggest that she talk to A) her coach B) her parents or C) the principal or the authorities.  That's as good as I can suggest...I think she's definitely being harassed or molested or something though because that just doesn't seem right...of course, I'm not a cheerleader so I wouldn't know how certain stunts are supposed to be performed :-/

Sorry about your friend.

Thanks, and I guess you are right. But what I want to know is what can they do? Well they can press charges, but what's the point? you know? I mean, he is going to lie and say it is an accident.

Well, you never know until you try.  Good luck, and if it was an accident, it wouldn't keep happening enough that she complains so much :-/

I agree with Rice, she needs to talk to the coach etc.  Hand in the bloomers isn't right at all.

Your friend needs to bring it to some officials attention, and seek some serious conseling.  If she has been raped 3 times :o before graduating high school then she more than likely has some issues about contact with males in general.

You don't touch something your not supposed to touch(bloomers.) Thats just in-appropiate. About the 3 rapes: thats very unfortunate to hear about. For a woman to get raped once its dramatizing but 3 times thats really horrid. Good luck to your friend. I feel bad she's been raped 3 times. Thats just awful. No woman should be ever be raped or touched where they are not supposed to be touched. Women deserve to be treated with the upmost respect not violated like that. Anyway she should probably to talk to her parents first before talking to anybody else. Her parents will her what she needs to do about this issue and how to go about it.

As a former cheerleader, unless her bloomers are too big, a finger slipping inside them is no accident.  She should definitely tell the coach.  If it is happening to her, and he is doing stunts with others, it is likely it is happening to them.  This guy needs to know that a) it is not right & b) there are serious consequences to his actions.

What can be done?  Yes, your "friend" can press charges.  The coach can remove him from the squad.  Your "friend" can ask to switch partners.  Or call him on it LOUDLY when it happens.  That way, everyone will know what is going on and when he does it to someone else, everyone will know.

I also agree with Race.  If she is not in counseling, she needs to get some.  Rape is a very difficult situation to deal with and it WILL affect how she reacts to men.

I think the pervert should be punished, furthermore I hope the rapists were castrated. My ex-wife was raped as a child..for years and she never sought counseling until recently.  I'm glad she's getting help but at the same time her past and it's hauntings contributed to our marraige failing  :-/  Tell your friend to stand tall and hang in there...Good Luck ;)
