Subject: Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon Dies
Written By: Indy Gent on 09/13/03 at 08:50 p.m.
Some more sad news. Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon, who had been Governor for almost 7 years, died of the stroke he suffered Monday in Chicago. He was 73. He was the Lieutenant Governor under now Senator Evan Bayh before he was elected Governor in 1996. Lieutenant Governor Joe Kernan will now be officially the interim leader until a new Governor is elcted in November 2004. According to his peers, he was a class act from beginning to the end, being respected by polititians from the state and the Nation. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him. :'(

How is your state holding up, Indy? I know it is a major adjustment when a governor dies in office. We had that about 10 years ago.
