Subject: Can we ever really have world peace?
Think about it, impossible or possible? Discuss...

One word: Millenium.
Until then: No.
Subject: Re: Can we ever really have world peace?
No.
It won't be happening for a LONG time. :(
Subject: Re: Can we ever really have world peace?
I'd like to be optimistic, but I don't think mankind is enlightened enough as a whole to achieve true peace. There will always be those who thrive on destruction.

World peace? Sure, it's possible. We just need someone in the White House who is commited to peace for a long time. If we had a more moderate Republican, or a strong Democrat in power we could make it happen in around... a couple centuries or so.
I just woke up, so my arguements aren't going to be super good on this topic.

World peace.... is not possible, and will never happen, jeez we live in a country (if you live in america) that has road rage, we can't even control our tempers in traffic, and you ask for world peace, you make me laugh lol.......world destruction... now that will happen.
Subject: Re: Can we ever really have world peace?
I personally believe that it is impossible, and me, I believe that almost anything's possible. I feel its never gonna happon. I remember, sorta going off topic here, but there was an episode of the X-files where Moulder discovered a Geenie, and he had three wishes, and so he attempted to wish for world peace, and as so it happoned, everybody in the world disapeared except for him and the geenie. Good approach.

As long as there are groups of people who dislike each other and claim that God is on their side there will never be world peace. Ever.

Possible. There will be world peace when Christ returns.
Subject: Re: Can we ever really have world peace?
I would like to believe that it could happen but unfortunately it is human nature to like blood and guts. Look how many popular movies and t.v. shows always have someone shooting someone else (not to mention the news). And look how everyone strains just to have a peak at a car accident. As a species, we are very brutal. I think that one way we can come closer to World Peace is to have women in charge. ;D

Great idea Cat!
Subject: Re: Can we ever really have world peace?
Ultimately, I'd have to say no, but it is a goal to work for even though it probably will never happen.

Sure, as long as they're not ultra-conservative warmongers like Thatcher, arch-corrupt like Bhutto, or useless like Megawati.
