Subject: New TNN will become "Spike TV" on August 11th
Like it or not, The New TNN will get it's new name back on August 11th, 2003.
BTW, The settlement of the name change was dropped a few weeks ago.
The channel only changed a small bit.
The only difference is that they replaced country music videos with wrestling & James Bond movies. (BTW, I don't like wrestling nor James Bond films)

Do you mean it hasn't changed much recently? Or since its conception? Because TNN has had a complete(and for the worse) overhaul since they added the "The New..." to their name.
The old original TNN was nothing like it is now.

Agreed.
Personally, I hate the new TNN. And I hated the old one, but that was at least better in my opinion. Every time I turn it on they are playing a Star Trek episode.

Reruns, infomercials, movies, and sports.
The only difference is that The New TNN now has orginal programming and bought the rights to wrestling.
I personally don't like wrestling, but it has it's share of fans.
If you like country music, there's a network called "CMT".
Which "Grand Ol' Opery" now airs.
Nascar racing still airs on F/X
(F/X bought the rights two or three years ago)
So they have "adult" cartoons, that's the only difference I noticed. Though they're trying to compete with Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" & Comedy Central cartoon block.
Much like the Cartoon Network had only classic cartoons in it's first three years.
Networks also grow. For better (Comedy Central) or Worse (MTV, Nickelodeon, F/X, VH1).
Every time I clicked past TNN, I saw reruns of "Dukes of Hazzard", country music videos and Nascar racing.
Now it's reruns of "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Real TV", and wrestling.
It didn't changed that much. Except that it now has a new "sport" called "Slamball".
BTW, I only like "Gary the Rat" & "Stripperella".
I'm not a fan of "Slamball", wrestling, nor "Star Trek: The Next Generation".

The only thing I do watch on TNN is Star Trek-TNG. I really hope they keep that on.

The cartoon block on Spike TV (New TNN) doesn't have a name, but at the beginning of each show, it says, "Cartoons For ####### Adults".

Yeah, and I always watched it, too. That's a hard show to find, anywhere. One of my favorites, growing-up.

I agree that "Spike TV" is a stupid name for a men's network. How about "The Deadbeat Dad's Channel"? ::)

I guess TNN saw how good the lifetime channel is doing in terms of targeting a female audience that TNN said well why don't we target a male audience? Personally, A Pamela Anderson cartoon and a "Gary The Rat" isn't going to make me watch the network. Yeah like somebody said before all you saw was Dukes of Hazzard when you flipped through the channels and hit TNN. I do like NASCAR Racing and I didn't like TNN's coverage of NASCAR Racing in the past. FOX and NBC are doing a good job with it though. ESPN always did a good with NASCAR Racing in the past. I never cared for TNN at all except for their re-runs last year of "Hangin With Cooper", "Different Strokes", and "Three's Company".
