Subject: Cruel Joke...
You may have seen this in the news:
Here in Indiana, there is a girl that has been missing since 1986, and the other day, the parents received a hone call from a woman who said she was their daughter that had been missing all this time.
Turns out, the woman who called was just an imposter wanting to play a lttle joke. The family is crushed, and the woman is now a wanted fugitive for Identity Deception.
Its really a sad story considering what that woman did, and I hope she gets caught and gets the book slapped at her.

I agree, 80s Rocked. There is not a more disgusting "minor" (NPI) crime than identifying yourself as a missing child as a joke. I am saddened, but not surprised, that it was not really her. :(

That sucks. >:(
I wish she could experiance what the family did. :-[
Does this woman not uderstand the pain she made, or is she such a b!tch and worthless example of human trash?
Subject: Re: Cruel Joke...
Not a very good punch line. >:(
Why would anyone in their right mind do something like that? Perhaps she's not in her right mind. That's the only explanation that makes any sense to me.

3 words: That's just SICK!!! >:(

The loss of a child, however it occures, has got to a a parent's worst nightmare. My youngest is now living on her own in the city, and I can tell you that I worry about her ALL THE TIME. I know people who have lost children, and in one case it lead to the wife shooting her husband (I think he wanted her to, and goaded her into it with abuse). How could anyone be so cruel, so cavalier, with the emotions of parents who after all these years have still not found closure? I can't imagine. My thoughts go out to that poor father.

Somehow, that seems so much less satisfying than just beating the crap out of her with an aluminum bat.
I can't imagine this crime to be the work of anyone other than either a mental defective with a rudimentary sense of humor, or a very emotionally messed-up person making a bizarre cry for help.

That women is a sick piece of waste. >:(
Subject: Re: Cruel Joke...
I can't understand why anyone would do this.

I can understand your anger, but I hope you are speaking metaphorically. "Beating the crap" out of a "mental defective" or deeply disturbed person "making a bizzare cry for help" seems to me both a bit extreme and counter-productive. Now if there was $$$ involved...

That is why I said I hope she experiances the same pain she caused the family. If she did not know how much it would hurt the family, then someone should let her know. If she did know it would cause so much pain and did it to be cruel, then pass the aluminum bat around. I say let the family have the first whack.
Don, I think money is a horrible way to penalize people. There is no equality. Slap a $1000 dollar fine on someone who is working for 9 dollars an hour and you will criple them: No more education, bettering oneself, limited food, ect. Slap a $10,000 dollar fine on a millionaire and they will still be eating surf and turf prepared by their private chef. How about a fine which is a % of yearly income? That way it deters equally.

Just an udpate:
It is being reported that police have traced this psycho to a phone call made to an adoption agency a while back claiming she had a baby to give up for adoption. It too was a hoax. Apparently she thinks her little phone "pranks" are humorous.
This lady is truly mental and needs to be removed from civilation.

And put in a mental institution.
Subject: Re: Cruel Joke...
That's just pathetic. >:(
Subject: Re: Cruel Joke...
IMO, she may have a mental disorder and could very-well have no control over her actions, as bizarre as this may sound. I say she should definitely be institutionalized.

Sorry Johnj, you mistake my meaning. If this family is rich, and she was trying to pull a con, than the baseball bat would be appropriate. I wasn't refering to a punishment.
