Subject: Song featured in Sex and the City

I know this is an extreme long shot, but here goes.....
I was watching the 1st episode of series 2 of Sex and the City last night, the one where Carrie dates a Knicks player.
It would have been originally broadcast in 1999. On their first date in a bar together, there was a song playing in the background. I really wanna know what it is. I kinda remember it being out a few years back, but I've a feeling it was more popular in the USA than here in England.
It is a male singing, but unfortunately I couldn't make out any of the lyrics. It has a really, really catchy riff in it. It is more of a rock song than anything else....I know this isn't much information, but maybe one of you guy's is a big fan and has the episode on tape??????
