Subject: Disneyland Memories

This goes for Disneyland in California, Disney World in Florida, Euro Disney too.
I think it is a pretty cool amusement park(s).
I have only been to Disneyland.
Some of the rides, well, they suck. Some are cool.
Like this Disneyland train that circles around the park. There's this tunnel they go through that is supposed to be the Grand Canyon. They have this ultra lame part with these stuffed fake deer (that don't move) and a lame painting backdrop.
For the price you pay to get in you would think they would update this crap.
Some of the parts of this place seriously need to be updated. Pirates of the Carribean is still a cool ride.
They made it politically correct. They took this part in it where a drunk pirate is searching for a pretty young lass. And she is hiding in a barrel qith a dog yapping at the barrel. And her head pops out from time to time as she peeks out. While the robot pirates' back is turned. He used to be holding a hankerchief of hers. Nowadays he's holding a turkey leg and talking about the leg, not the lassie he is seeking.
But they bolted the barrel shut. I guess they thought the implication was offensive. Not PC. when they try and take anything offensive out of a great ride. A bit dated but still great.
Anyone with Disneyland stories? Good or bad. As long as they are interesting! rip Disney apart!
Anyone been to Euro Disney???

I been to Euro-Disney. Haven't they changed the name to Disneyland Paris to make it sound more classy?
'My children need wine!' :P
I don't remember much of it really - apart from trying to resist the urge to beat up the blokes in the suits and them parades that go past every 5 minutes :-/
I was hoping to remember more in the course of writing this post - but no such luck with my drug-addled memory. :(

I've been to Disneyland Paris too. About 10 years ago, I was obsessed with all things Disney and I used to tie balloons to a paddling pool and try to fly there. At the age of 11, I discovered Wald Disney World resort Florida and I always wanted to go there. I went to Disneyland Paris when I was 12 for a couple of nights and we've got one of our trips there on video. It has a couple of silly parts where I walked into the camcorder and my sister kissed it.

Hmmm.
I don't think France is the place for a Disneyland park.
I think Europe is becoming too Americanized.
That's fine to have a McDonald's in almost every street corner, but not Europe.
That's just me and I'm a patriotic Yank. I don't want a McDonald's on every USA street either though.
But they need to update those Disney rides!!!

I finally went to Disneyland (in Cal.) for the first time about 5 years ago. My sister used to work at the Disney Store and had free passes and gave them to us since they were going to expire before she had a chance to use them. Except for the fact that is was a super hot day, I had a great time. Though I did get really sick of the song "It's a Small World" while standing in line for the ride. :-/ It was basically a dream come true because that has been something that I wanted to do just about all my life. When we were leaving, I thanked D.C. for taking me and that I had a wonderful time. He said to me, "I am really glad that you had a wonderful time and if you ever want to go again, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!" He hates amusement parks but didn't let me know that until we had left. He didn't complain at all. In fact, he kept saying to me, "Oh, we need to go on this ride" or "We need to see that." He made sure that I saw/did all main attactions. But, we didn't make it to the Tea Cups-a ride I had always wanted to go on. Oh well.
