Not to put a damper on it or anything by the guys in my neck of the woods did that back in the 80's too.  And my dad did it when he was in high school back in the '40's. :)

Pretty true I must say. I've just finished college, so in America I guess I'd be classed as 'Class of 2003' (beacuse our 6th form college is pretty much the last 2 yrs of your high school - I'm 18).

Ok, I understand the thong/jean things - sometimes it can't be helped!! ;D But, I'd never wear a halter top in the Winter!!

I hate Good Charlotte, don't mind older New Found Glory stuff, and like one Song that Sum41 has done - none of that stuff is the the best music around though!

I have a 'mobile' phone, and do tend to go to a coffee shop at least once a week! :)

Gosh dang, I remember when I was in high school, we used the graphic calculators with infrared transmitters ;D  Problem was that they only had a limited range so you could only cheat with the guy next to you.

really, your grade isn't into drinking yet?  In 8th grade, drinking was in main stream, it died down a little by the end of 9th when almost the entire grade got in trouble with the cops for an alchahal party...not me, though, even though i was invited...but people still drink often...

yeah, my school thought they got smart by banning all cell phones and beepers during final exams, so we devised a new method of cheating...one kid taps out the question number on the desk, and another taps out the answer...its virtually flawless!  Those dumb proctors will never catch on...

I couldn't do some of the stuff you mention in the early 60's, but I frequently cut classes to see my girlfriend, who went to a different school, different schedual - a "note" from my dad, a phone call from a pay phone and I was OUT (and we had some very interesting - and educational - times.  I also often took a small bottle of scotch to school with me - man, a shot at lunch made that cafeteria pig slop go down nice and smoooooth, and protected my stomach from whatever bugs the servers might have gotten into it.  

So, while some of you youngens' antics are time, or rather technology specific, there ain't nothin new under the sun.  And, by the way, may dad was more or less clued in on many of my "escapades" as I found out later.

When I took drivers ed we had to watch these really cheesy videos starring Don Johnson and his yellow Corvette.

My drivers' ed was in a station wagon - don't remember the make - but a three speed manual.  Crusing down rt 10 at the speed limit (I'd been driving for at least 8 months) the teacher, with about 50 feet of warning, say "turn right here".  So, I hit the brake, throw her into second, pop the clutch, and make the turn.  The car starts to fish-tail, so I swing the wheel and hit the gas.  Meanwhile, the damn fool instructor is pumping HIS brake - the only control he had.  So the car pulls out of the fish tail and we proceed down the local road at the speed limit (I would never speed  ;))  The fool yells at me "What do you think you're doing!!!!" "making the turn you asked for, SIR, got a problem with that?"

That's what I was thinking too.  It seems like kids of every era think what they are doing is totally brand new and original.  They think they're the first ones to do it, and they think they are the first teenagers ever.

I remember back in the 90's, people critised the youth for reusing old 70's styles.  (grunge)

My driver's education book is from 1982!  It might not seem old to some of you guys, but the pictures of cars they show in the book are hilarious compared to what we drive today.
