Subject: Friday 13th
Is it really a bad luck day or are you like me and bad things only start happening once you remember half way through the day what date it is, which to me means it's all in the mind.
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
Honestly...it's never been an issue for me.
I think I was well into my 20's before I heard it was supposed to be "bad luck".
The only "bad luck" day for me is a Monday.... ;)
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
I've always had good luck on F13. I'm hoping something good will happen to me this time ;D
Like for instance, my show for F13 got cancelled which normally would suck b/c I don't get paid BUT my bosses have decided to take us all out for dinner and a movie. Yes, I still don't get paid, BUT I don't spend any money on food or entertainment either so it's all good!!
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
I had verygood and a bit bad happen today so i guess it's just like every other day!!
Maybe you're just more conscious of it cos of the date.
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
Friday the 13th has never affected me one way or the other. I don't believe in bad luck. On the other hand, Monday the 13th has always scared me. ;)
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
It's just another day to me.
It would be bad luck if you watched any of the 'Friday the 13th films' on this day because you can guarantee they are all going to be rubbish.
That's bad luck. :)
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
My mum said that Friday 13th is only an unlucky day if you're superstitious. I'm pretty superstitious myself because after sitting an exam earlier,I had to wait two and a half hours for my taxi and I started feeling fed up and tired. Thankfully, I'm home now.
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
and thankfully it's just about over here....not that i believe in all that rubbish at all....
fingers crossed (well you can't be too careful)
Subject: Re: Friday 13th

Mine's going to be a disaster. I've told the girlfriend that I would do the washing-up and I haven't done it yet!
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
lol that doesn't count...that's a disaster you could have avoided! get them done...although why she'd want you to i don't know...men cannot wash up properly
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
She has a moan 'cos I put too much washing-up liquid in the bowl apparently!
The moaning started since we bought 'Fairy!' ;D
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
lol she sounds alot like me...you really don't need much of the expensive one!
and make sure you rinse...there's nothing worse than floaters
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
Okay, for those of us who haven't a clue...
what is "washing up"? Dishes, clothes?
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
Dishes ! What is it called in the USA ? :o
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
lol sorry...washing up's doing the dishes, doing the washing is washing the clothes
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
i think they call it loading the dishwasher ;D
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
Yeah . . . We've got a dishwasher. Oh hang on - it's me!
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
I certainly hope today is lucky. In 3 hours I'm having Lasik surgery to correct my vision. First time in almost 30 years that I won't need contacts or glasses. Woo Hoo!
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
You shouldn't need it but good luck, Tripsmom! ;)
Subject: Re: Friday 13th

I wish you Brits would please speak English! "Redding up" means clean up your house, room, dishes, or anything (in Pittsburghese). Also, why did y'all (short for "you all" in Southern-ese) have to remind me it was Friday the 13!!!!!
Subject: Re: Friday 13th
I had a perfect day. You know why? I stayed home from my workshop cause I asked for a day off.everything was nice and quiet. ;D

Redding up!?! ???
At least saying 'doing the washing-up' seems to make sense.
If you want to know some real slang, here's some British slang.
'Bog/John (rarely used)' - toilet as in 'going to the bog'.
'Swanning about' - As in 'stop swanning about'. To move about in a meaningless manner (I believe this one is a Midlands saying).
'Put the kettle on' - Make a cup of tea.
'Slapper' - A derogatory term for a loose woman, usually a prostitute.
You haven't heard the half of it!

I can only recall having bad luck once ... in 1996. I was covering a high school football game for a small newspaper in Michigan, and on the way back to the office, I got TWO flat tires. After having my car towed to the office, the towtruck driver accidentally locked the keys in my car. A very long night, indeed! It was also the same night that Tupac Shakur was shot, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. ;)

20/20 in the right eye and 20/25 in the left. And it should get better as it heals.
And yes "cheerleader" I'm using lots of drops. Little disposable tubes all over the palce. I especially like the big dark glasses and eye shields. How sexy is that! ::) ;D
