May 29, 2003 -- Mike Tyson says he was wrongly convicted for raping Desiree Washington in 1991, but adds in a TV interview to be aired today, "Now I really do want to rape her."

The sad fact is, Princess, they probably won't even take this into consideration. Like Lester said, until state sanctioning bodies quit liscensing and Showtime quits televising the fights, and people quit shelling out massive bucks to watch it, idiotic diatribe like this only adds to sales. Everybody wants to see the freak show. Not me!! P.T. Barnum said it, "There's a sucker born every minute".

Oh I agree. I could sit here & say I hope that noone buys tickets to his next fight, but then that wouldn't be fair to Lennox Lewis, you know? He is an embarrassment to the Boxing Industry & it angers me that there are fighters like, Johnny Tapia who is currently suspended for 3 years for cocaine addiction will most likely never fight again - why? Because even though he's an excellent fighter, he is not a well-known Heavyweight boxer. And yet, Tyson is STILL getting paid millions of dollars just to show up in the ring after he has repeatedly raped & beaten women & been incarcerated for it!?! UGH! >:(
Oh well, "money talks" and I hope Lennox beats the living crap out of him next time. :)

To be fair he has not repeatedly been incarcerated for rape. And after what I saw last night he probably shouldn't have been found guilty of the the rape of Ms. Washington.
Obviously he's upset that he lost three years of his life (years in which I believe he would have regained the title and continued to dominate the heavyweight division) and in the process losing millions and millions of dollars. I think he meant that he wish he had raped her, than it would have been justified that he spent three years in the can.
And for the record, it won't matter if they let him fight Lewis or not because my man Kirk Johnson is gonna stretch Lewis out.

I saw that too, made me think that possibly if it were done over again(the trial) and had the jury knew what they know now, possibly things would have turned out much differently.
However, I still have a hard time defending Tyson. Especially when 99% of his reputation is solely based on his big mouth and the stupid things that come out of it.

Tyson definitely needs a lifetime membership to a mental facility for anger management isssues and a lifetime supply of stupidity medicine.
He's a freak. No doubt about it.
But, you really want to know what I think about that whole incident with that girl:
She wanted to be with him. He wanted her. He told her so. She wanted to be taken seriously and wanted to be special to him. He didn't take her seriously, nor did he treat her as anything more than the ho she must have been for having gone up into his room with him in the first place.
She probably consented, but was not expecting the carelessness, the roughness and utter lack of consideration she received. He probably just did his thing and was done. She was probably hurt physically, emotionally, angry, resentful and bitter because of his treatment of her. Mostly, I think, he most likely made no apologies for any of it. She felt cheap and used afterall.
All that leads me to think of the possibility of doubt. Like, maybe he didn't commit the deed. That and the fact that she had falsely accused an old boyfriend of rape once before just to cover-up the fact that she wasn't pure.
Ah well. The crazy, crazy world of celebrity. Glad not to be a part of it.

This doesn't change how I feel about Mike as a person, that he is not a good human being. But I believe he was framed for raping Desiree Washington. The judge, Sarah Evans Barker had a daughter who was raped, which flies in the face that anyone with any personal interest should not preside over proceedings. And Greg Garrison, the "special" Prosecutor (or DA) now has his own radio talk show, something he wouldn't have if he didn't send Tyson to jail. And Iron Mike at least tried to better himself by converting to Muslim and hiring Muhammad Sideeq, a popular local leader, as he spiritual advisor. It's too bad he has turned out the same mean-spirited character associated with his boxing career.
