Subject: Here's one for your "sweet-tooth"!

Written By: 80sRocked on 05/21/03 at 05:16 p.m.

I love chocolate chip cookies, I think I would be in heaven if I saw this:

FLAT ROCK, N.C. - A jarringly large cookie broke a world record Saturday before a crowd of 1,500 hungry onlookers.

It took eight hours and a cookie sheet the size of a basketball court to bake the 100-foot, 20-ton chocolate chip colossus. The cookie was baked in an oven bag that released the smells of chocolate and warm, sugary dough when it was opened.

"It looks like a giant mud pie," said Sarah Fantle, 18, of Hendersonville.

The curious crowd that braved a steady drizzle for a glimpse of the cookie soon began nibbling it down to size for $10 a slice. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the Folk Artist's Foundation to build a craft museum.

Immaculate Baking Co. owner Scott Blackwell and a team of 70 volunteers constructed the cookie from 6,500 pounds of butter, 30,000 whole eggs and 5,000 pounds of sugar.

Jonathan Collins, a representative of the former record holder, Cookie Time, witnessed the event.

The record belongs in American hands because the chocolate chip cookie is an American invention, Blackwell said.

...and then suddenly it's gone!

"Come on now, own up!  Who took the cookie?  We're not leaving here until the cookie is put back in the field"

When are they going to make the world's largest cookie jar?

There's a guy on Sesame street (a communist conspirace) who says "COOKIES, COOKIES" as he gourges himself.  The glutton, the libertine, the promiscuous COOKIE MONSTER.  And the evil is obviously spreading!!!  We must resist this libidonous gluttony and return to the true values of thrift, frugality, and temperance (he says as he sips his rum and tokes his butt ;D)

Thanks for a good one 80's. ;)

I hear that.

Grandmothers do have a knack for making cookies.''

I remember mine would always have a bowl of freshly made cookies.  It was like she made them 24/7.

My grandmother is 94 and STILL makes her infamous cookies. We went to visit her a few months ago (she lives several states away so we don't get see her too often) and she served us her cookies and hot chocolate. That is how I will always remember my grandmother.  ;D
