Subject: What was the first DVD you bought?

Well, since there's threads for "your first" LP's, cassette, and CD, why not "your first DVD"? :D
The first DVDs I bought were two new wave music video compilations I bought for a decent price last winter.
They were called "Best of New Wave" & "More New Wave".
Currently, I have 8 DVDs. (still have a lot of video tapes)

I didnt get my first DVD player till 2001 (had way too many tapes :P). My first DVD was Gladiator, and I was amazed all all the stuff they could put onto a DVD! I loved the extras on gladiators and history of how they came to be a Roman spectator sport.

The first DVD I ever bought and not rented was JAWS. Since then, I've gone on a DVD rampage, as I decided it's far cheaper for me to buy the DVD's then to rent them and pay the late fees afterwards (I'm always late). I have somewhere near a hundred now. Some of them, like the two I bought this weekend, I've never even watched. I buy them for when I want to watch them...

Haven't bought my first DVD yet. We are waiting for the DVD's that you can record on comes down in price. We figured maybe next year, and then we will get one.

The first DVD I agreed to purchase is "Lawless: Beyond Justice" starring the late Kevin Tod Smith from New Zealand. It was a special order, so I do not have it in my hands yet. The first one I actually have in my house is an anime called "My Neighbor Totoro".
I have not yet been able to watch it. I just got the player a few days ago, and I still need a "doohickey" to make it work properly, since I also have cable tv and a VCR.
I'll have the "doo-dah" by this weekend.... ;)

Well the first DVD I bought was "Gladiator" but that was for my ex.... ::)
I just recently got with the times and got my own DVD player though, so the first one I bought for me was "A Knight's Tale", an absolutely classic movie! :D

It was either "Braveheart," "Chicken Run" or "Terminator 2: Special Edition". Don't recall. I have some "duds" in my collection as well ;D
I reeeeeeeeeeally was tempted to get the 5-DVD set for $60 at Costco that included "Office Space," "There's Something About Mary," "Dude, Where's My Car?", "Big Momma's House" and "Me Myself & Irene" ;D

When I bought my DVD player I also bought 6 DVDs. Among them were "Spiceworld", "Barbarella", and "The Black Hole".

I received my dvd player from Santa and he also included Jaws: Special Anniversary Edition and This is Spinal Tap...
The first dvd I purchased was on Boxing Day and it was (surprise, surprise) Bon Jovi: The Crush Tour...

It's Morrissey's music vid collection. I bought it BEFORE I even had a DVD player :D !

Well I bought 10 of them at the same time, but I do remember "The Cell" passing over the scanner first.

I was fortunate enough to win a really sweet DVD player about 4 years ago at the company Christmas party ;D 8)
The first DVD I rushed out to buy was "Young Frankenstein", one of my all time favourite comedies. Once my mom had spread the word to the rest of the family, my brother bought us "Terminator 2" on DVD. That was indeed a Merry Christmas.
Since then, I have picked up not nearly enough DVDs. My wish list is always much longer than my budget allows, even if I pick up a few used DVDs now and then.

Got my DVD player in April 2001. The first DVDs I got were The Game, Scarface and Pulp Fiction.

My first DVD, which I got last Christmas, was Mr. Show with Bob and David Seasons 1 & 2 (Season 3 comes out in August). The most recent DVD I bought was Belinda Carlisle's Runaway Live Tour from 1990

My all time favorite movie, "The Blues Brothers". NOT Blues Brothers 2000, THE Blues Brothers with Joilet Jake and Elwood.
The DVD had so many new scenes. I never knew Elwood had a job at a glue factory. It's the only time in the movie where you see his eyes!

The first DVD I bought was Shrek. I was on holiday in Butlins, Bognor Regis and my parents gave me £10 every day. I decided to save up £20 to buy the DVD.
