Subject: Indy Gent's Sister's Dog Put To Sleep
Some bad news. My sister's 11 year old German Shepherd was euthanitized this morning, due to cancer that had spread to the point that he couldn't move without being in pain. She now has the other large German Shepherd, the black dog, and the black cat. She's been crying all day, so please remember all of them in your prayers. :'(

Ahhh. :'( That's too bad. Our pets are like our other children. Hugs to your sis.

I am so sorry to hear that Indy. I had to have my Rottie put down a couple years ago due to cancer, and it was very hard. My heart goes out to you all.

Sorry to hear about that, IG. You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers. :'(

I am so sorry to hear that. I had to put a cat to sleep once and it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make so I do understand what your sister is going through. You are in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and sympathies. I am both touched and saddened by all the stories of pets being put to sleep. Even if these animals live long healthy lives, it doesn't make parting with them any easier. My sister thanks you too.

When I had to put my dog down, the nurse at the vet's office wrote this poem in a card to me...
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
My thoughts are with Indy's sister and her beloved puppy...

Ahhhhhh! That's truly touching, Jonman. Those that have never had pets can't know how much the loss of one can be. My prayers go out to you and yours IG.
