Subject: Prayers for Jerry Nadeau

NASCAR driver Jerry Nadeau remains in critical condition after his latest crash. He was wearing the HANS device made mandatory by NASCAR officials. Some say he could have been killed immediately without it. Please say your prayers for Nadeau's recovery and for the safety of the remaining drivers through this Winston Cup season.

Good news: Nadeau is out of his coma and they upgraded his condition from critical to serious. He's not out of the woods yet, but at least this is encouraging news.

Australia lost a race car driver in "Possum" Bourne. He was hospitalized for awhile but unfortunately didn't make it. To me he was a legend. :'(

My prayers are with him and his family also. Another bad thing about this situation -- I heard that his wife wasn't at the race last weekend because she was at her grandfather's funeral -- which is where she was when she got the news about Jerry :(
It's never a pleasant thing when drivers are seriously injured or worse, but it always bothers me more when they happen during PRACTICE, rather than during a race.
