Subject: Bye bye Iraqi TV
I just saw this report on my local news, and it made me laugh at how the Iraqi officials still are claiming success against the Coalition:
As you know, we are now in Baghdad. Well, last night on Iraqi TV, the Iraqi Information Minister was on air live actually denying that the coalition was in Baghdad and claiming their usual propoganda about how they are holding off the Coalition.
Then, suddenly the screen went black.
I just thought it was humorous that while he was on air live saying we weren't in Baghdad, we knocked him off the air. :D

So are we in Baghdad or aren't we? :P
It seems the headlines have been stagnant for about a week..."Coalition outside Baghdad" and the such.
I guess we're in there now, the news today says they're about to, or are in the process of, taking over the airport in Baghdad.

Well hot dang! It seems that intelligence agencies have discovered that the Saddam tapes were made before the war...which begs the question, where's the dude now?

According to what I'm reading right now:
The airport is located 10 miles outside of the actual downtown area of Baghdad. So we are in the outside rim of the Bagdhad area, just not in the actual dowtnown area yet.

I just read this too a second ago. My guess is he is burning in h*ll right about now. :)

Oh, I thought this was thread was going to have a parody to American Pie in it...
Bye Bye to Iraqi TV
Knew we'd git it
When we hit it
It's gone black you can see
Saddam's picture is at last history
You didn't like him, neither did we
You didn't like him, neither did we

Did you want to drop a bomb
While Saddam resists with great aplomb...
;D
Subject: Re: Bye bye Iraqi TV
I read today that, while the bombing continues, the brass is reluctant to actually go into the city, at least for now. They want to avoid street fighting if they can, so are hoping the regime surrenders. Hope that happens quick, it would certainly save lives.

Good ridance to Iraqi TV.
