Well, obviously y'all been watchin the news and well did u see that they used that "Patriot missile" (or "PAC-3") to take down the scuds. Yep, that's my daddy's. He worked on that thing. I'm so proud of my daddy! :)

You have every right to be proud of your daddy for his technical skill. I'm proud of the skill of all of our troops, and of the way they seem to be handling the POW's. BRAVO for our ability to make war in the most humane way possible - NO SARCASM INTENDED. The question is, should they be using those skills at this time, and in this place. Its not a question of the professionalism or honor of our military - those are (mostly) beyond question. The question is a political one. So I too am glad your daddy is on our side. I question those who give the orders, not those who follow them.

I'm happy you're proud of your daddy, just as I'm sure he's proud of you. :)

We should all be proud of your dad and all our American troops who have fought valiantly in the face of treacherous conditions in Iraq and Kuwait.
Subject: Re: So proud of my daddy
You should be proud, Queenie. :)
Subject: Re: So proud of my daddy
Good for you Queen! And you should be proud of him just as he should be proud of you! Aren't daddies the greatest? :D Mine is a police detective in Montgomery County, MD and helped solve the DC Sniper case & I have thanked him more in the past 5 months than I ever have in my life! :)

I echo Don Carlos' sentiments. I am proud of your father. I'm significantly less proud of the people who decide where that missle goes.

Yeah, I kinda stuck my foot in my mouth today. I was saying something about it and one of my friends goes "Yeah well your dad's missile took down our guys" And I'm like "IT DID?!!" Well, everyone just laughs at stupid ol' me.

The way I heard it, it took down a Royal Air Force helicopter...so it wasn't "our" guys, but it was our friends. However, you should still be proud that your dad's missile helped protect the allies from some Scuds ;)
Crap happens in war. Helicopters crash, people shoot the wrong people. Unfortunate, really :(
PS -- Queen, I hope after this is all over, you can be proud of your dad for other things he might be able to do, like building a more efficient rocket to Mars ;)
Subject: Re: So proud of my daddy
Sorry, Rice, I don't think he makes THOSE kinda rockets. ;)

It was actually a Tornado GR4. This is a 2 seater Multi Role Combat Aircraft.

Looks like someone forgot to program the sig of that plane into the Patriot system: users... some oversights have worse consequenses than others, I guess.
I guess you can be proud of your daddy, Queen, but less so of the lazy SOB who bunked off when he should have been programming the thing (or didn't check his work properly).
