Subject: A Can of Whup-A$$

- Has just been opened.  A quote-
Al-Sahhaf suggested that any captured U.S. and British soldiers may not be treated as prisoners of war under the Geneva Conventions. Al-Sahhaf said Iraq was considering how to treat them.

"Those are mercenaries. Most probably they will be treated as mercenaries, hirelings and as war criminals. ... For sure, international law does not apply to those," he said.

Not to sound insensitive or anything...

But the U.S. is kickin' some serious butt and the magnitud and efficiency of the attack is impressive, to say the least.

Edited to add: Other words used to describe the action: Astonishing, Amazing, Astounding.

I'd also like to add that England & Australia are there, physically helping and I am, personally, grateful.

I'd also like to mention the coalition casualties of this initial phase of this war. "They died protecting the safety of the world." Their service is appreciated and they will always be remembered. My condolences.

I watched it on my lunch hour. So this is A-day...I cannot imagine how loud and amazingly huge it all must be there in Baghdad. Just seeing on TV it was impressive.

Godspeed and safety to the Coalition and the troops, and the innocent ones.....

Uh...sorry, Race.  I'm sure there is a point in here, somewhere, but it escapes me...

  By the way, who's Al-Sahhaf?

He is Iraq's Foreign Minister, and to be in that position and be quoted as saying that any prisoners would not be treated under the Geneva convention perameters is calling on not only condemnation from other gvmts but there is a VERY big fist pointed at his jaw right now.

Isn't he the one that helped Saddam with the luring and killing of Saddams son in laws when they defected from Iraq? Or am I thinking of the wrong guy? He has so many thugs surrounding him.... ???

I read in the paper today that some Iraqi soldiers had tried to surrender before the first shots had even be fired, but Kuwaiti border guards told them to wait until the war had started!
