Subject: Geezer needs song I.D.
I don't get out much, and when I do, it's usually listening to my "mixed tapes" that have survived since the mid eighties. Nevertheless, I was feeling frisky and scanned through some of the "young folk's" music on the radio and fear I found something I like.
Female, young, heavy but dancable...
"All the things you said all the things you said all the things..."
and so on until
"Yes I lost my miiiiiiiiiind."
It's on about every ten minutes but the dj's seem to assume I already am in the loop. I'm not. I'm lucky I'm not in traction.

Lovey, that's t.A.T.u.'s "All The Things She Said." Currently, my fave Puke Pop group.

Lang, you are so NOT a geezer!!
Subject: Re: Geezer needs song I.D.
Hey there, Langdon. Like Jon said, you are not a geezer otherwise that would make me a geezer and I refuse to believe that.
Glad you popped in for a minute. :D

Don't feel bad, lang. I just figured out who it was last week. I like that song too.

Nobody really knows.
1. Back in Russia, they went by the name, "Taty" (remember that what looks like a "y" to us is actually pronounced like an "u" for them :) ). Supposedly, it is a wordplay for, "Ta lyubit Tu" (roughly: "I love you/I love her"). "Taty" is pronounced like the English word, "Tattoo."
2. The Russian word for "tattoo" is "tatyirovka." It could be short for that.
3. They also had to change the name from Taty/Tatu to something close to it since there already are artists that go by that name and badah-bing badah-boom they come up with this new way of writing it! The girls actually spell it out, letter by letter instead of saying the word...
It's creepy that I know this, but I read this somewhere on the internet, so it should be taken with a grain of salt :P

I like that song too. It sounds kinda 80s.
If you want to feel OLD.......
Both those girls were born around 1985/1986. :-/

i believe it's an abriviation for "this girl loves that girl" in russian. well, that's what a lot of radio DJs agree on, anyway.

Okay. That explains it, the whole Slavic chick thing. God bless ABBA, say I.
Now try this. More hip-hop, female singer although the duo is a brother and sister, and the chorus is simply:
The reckoning, the reckoning
...
Here's one thing I know, you don't give a damn about me,
...
The reckoning.
