Subject: I am going to join a DVD club...
I am going to join the columbia house DVD club, so I have to pick out 5 DVD's. What are your favorite DVD's? I think I will get Breakfast Club and Good Will Hunting for sure, but what are the DVD's you would get?

I have never joined a DVD club, but I was in the Columbia house CD club for a while. I never lived up to my end of the bargan (bought the six normal priced CD's two year). Instead of charging me a penalty when my two years were up, they cancelled my membership and sent me a check. They told I had racked up enough bonus points, so they owed me money. Kind of funny if you think about it.

I am of firm belief that Good Will Hunting should have won the Best Picture award over Titanic, but Titanic earned a bajillion dollars and GWH didn't...go fig
Me:
1. The LOTR trilogy (when it comes out in 2004)
2. The Indiana Jones trilogy (if it EVER comes out)
3. Back To The Future
4. Dirty Dancing
5. The Wallace and Gromit collection
I realize some of these are multiple-movie sets, but they count as one because they come in a box :)

Well, I joined it last year. This is what I got…
National Lampoon's Animal House
Scary Movie
American Pie
Austin Powers--The Spy Who Shagged Me
South Park--Bigger, Longer & Uncut
I had to buy two more (within a 2-year period) to leave the club. They were:
Shrek
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Jim Carrey movie)
The only reason I joined was to get me some DVD's to play in my computer, which has a DVD drive in it. I played Shrek in it, and the computer crashed. I now own a DVD player, and prices of them are dropping!

thats your first mistake.
I was involved with Columbia House a few years back and it was such a rip-off in the long-run after S&H fees and their "regular club prices". I was much better off buying the same movies at an actual physical store. I would never do it again.
