Sorry if there is already a thread for this subject, but just curious....who is your favorite band/singer/group out now?
For me it would have to be Lifehouse. I love their song "Spin".

At this point in time, it's a tie between The Distillers and the Transplants -- if they're's one CD you should check out, it's The Transplants.

Bruce Springsteen would have to be my favourite right now. I LOVE his latest CD The Rising and more importantly he is coming to Australia next year - and I HAVE A CONCERT TICKET! :D

Yeah Ive always like Rush quite a bit too. My theory is that Rush has never really molded into all the popular trends over the years which made it harder for them to be noticed by the mainstream. They have always done everything their own way and relied more on their talent than looks. Maybe this explains their longevity.

By 2000's music, I'd have to go for Linkin Park too. They sound promising as long as they don't blow it. Also Pink. Sure, she's late 1999, but she became a bigger artist in the 2000s IMO. Most Girls, Don't Let Me Get Me, Family Affair, and of course Get the party started. Female artists get to me... it's a guilty pleasure :D
Hey, if Linkin Park and Pink join forces, would they become:

My favourite artist of the moment, that is still touring and making new music in the 2000s, has to be PJ Harvey.

For the most part, I honestly listen to my 80's compilation cd's more than I listen to anything new.
BUT, every now and then I'll catch a MUSIC VIDEO (faint & fall over) on MTV2 and hear something that I really like. Currently I'm obsessed with two new songs:

I like Gareth Gates and Lisa Scott-Lee. I also like her band, Steps who split in December 2001. Nowadays I listen to bands like Atomic Kitten, Sugababes and Liberty X.

My current favourite would have to be the Groundhogs ('60s/'70s Progressive Blues); although i fear i've already downloaded all their best songs. Still yet to find their LPs in any record shops. :-/

As an artist, Billy Joel consistently made great songs. 'Uptown girl' was one of my favourite songs ever and so was grieved when Westlife covered it.
My favourite band is Madness. I am now aware they only had one hit in the US with 'Our House' but they are a great, if decidely British band. Their ability to have fun with music and be less self-conscious is one of the main reasons why I liked them so much - Also Suggs is great too. :)
