I like them, surprisingly. I own a copy of How You Remind Me, but am not yet going to get my hands on a copy of Too Bad. I guess I'll just wait until it's worth less first.

Subject: Re: Nickelback
yeah i also really hate them.
they are so overplayed here in canada...
then again i probably don't like any of the music you people like, with the exception of a couple 60's/70's bands..
i could prolly name at least 30 bands that nobody here has heard of

I have nothing against Nickelback in particular. But,it seems there are a lot of bands out now that sound similar.A moody cynical sounding vocalist with a deep voice and music that is basic no frills rock, hard but not too hard. These bands sound so serious, they took the fun out of music.20 years ago,I never would of predicted music would sound like this.

Nickelback is good. I like the fact that they look like they went from their garage to the stage. No make-up and $2000 outfits. Their music is good, hard rock & roll without being what my stepdaughter calls "devil worshiping music". And they can write good songs without having to use the dreaded "F" word every other word. I don't have anything against that per se, but I have a lot of kids running around my house most of the time so a lot of the bands I like I can't listen to most of the time because they want to use the dreaded "F" word every other word.

Over here in the UK there are alot of people who are slagging off nickelback! a reviewer in a magazine called chad kroeger a c**t! So Chad Kroeger has challenged that reviewer to a charity boxing match! the guy has exepted so whenthe band are over here next summer it will be 6ft Chad Kroeger Vs a 4ft tall magazine Cd reviewer! all chad has to do is get the wee bugger in a corner and that will be it!

Not being able to take criticism, challenging journalists to fights = signs of being a complete jerkwad.

This Year it wos NickelBack, in 2001 it was Staind, In 2000 it 3 Doors down. All these bands sound the same, and will just have to move over when the next one comes along.

aye but the wee bugger called chad a cunt when he reviewed HYRM! ??that time was ignored, the bugger also called him a cunt when he reviewed Too Bad! Chad ignored it again Then when he reviewed Nickelback live at home he called chad a wussy who couldnt punch a fly! so chad challenged the wee bugger to put his money were his mouth is!

Well, though I must admit I'm not the biggest Nickleback fan, I feel like I have to defend my fellow Canadians.
First of all, these guys are about the most down-to-earth, easygoing band around. They have not forgotten their prairie roots and in fact, last year when they were selling out concerts across Canada (tickets in my hometown were going for well over a hundred bucks - Canadian money, granted, but nonetheless ;)), they came back to play an outdoor music festival to thank the fans from home who believed in them from the beginning).
Secondly, I think a charity boxing match is great! Instead of stooping to the same level as his critic by coming up with a few of his own name-calling retorts, he's decided to make light of it all for the benefit of charity.
Lastly, I think comparing him to Axl Rose is completely off-base. Knowing what I do of these guys, I would be willing to wager that they would never leave their fans high and dry, waiting for a concert that's just not going to happen.
So, that's my two cents. Back to your regularly-scheduled programming.

I don't care much for Nickelback: ALL their songs get old REAL fast.
