Subject: Visions of 2005

Thought this was kind of interesting. How do you all view the world between 2005 & 2010?

I see a 3 GB computer the size of a cell phone that I can actually afford :)

I think that all the technology that we fantasized abou will finally be available, but it'll be no surprise to us...just the logical next step. Think of it...a mere 15 years ago, a cell phone fit in a suitcase, and ran ya about $600.00...nowadays, you can get 'em at 7-11 with your coffee. Cars are becoming more and more sleek...computers are getting smaller an smaller, and are becoming capable of doing much more than ever though of...2005 (provided that the world doesn't destroy itself by then) will be a lot like today, only by then, laptops will be about the size of a day planner, cell phones will be smaller than a business card, and the internet will have revolutionized shopping as we know it today

Technology will only become stronger, I don't even try to predict cause I know I will underestimate the progress.
How we will be socially is even a trickier question, crime rates have dropped the last 10 years but we here about more awful and violent actions more often.  I think the biggest thing is that the US will become more multi-cultural and unfortunatley will continue towards greater seperation of wealth and education.

Hmmm... life in 2010   ::) ???... ???...  :) ;)

Nanotechnology will be so advanced that all major diseases will be practically eliminated.  Aortic plaque, fragile and diseased cell walls will be cleaned and repaired with the practically cost-free nanobots.  The average human life span will be dramatically higher... people will still be playing tennis and hang-gliding at the age of 150.

The population will increase, but the excess will be eager to migrate to Mars, which was first colonized in 2003.  Robots will do all of the repetitive, boring and back-breaking jobs once done by humans.  America has a woman president.  The Nobel Prize goes to the scientist who, after many years of lonely and discouraging research, discovers the cure for the common cold.

That is, unless another computer glitch happens. (Knock wood!)
This is how I see 2005: we can't afford anything in 2005.

Not a whole lot will change by 2005.  :-/

Hopefully the world leaders, collectively, will not destroy us all by then. Our populus world and present day reality are not pretty, folks.

I was gonna say the same thing.  But they said that in the 40s, I'm sure.  So there's always that bit of hope.

*2005 will have a Playstation 3!  The 1st came out in 1995, and the 2nd in 2000, so technically it won't be a shock by then.
*The late 90s look, feel & sound would finally disintegrate by then(I hope, though if you think about it enough, it's getting there).
*I'd be 25!  Also, a famous comics artist; which would be priced @ 2.75 by then!  still less expensive than going to the movies lol!

I thought of bringing this back after a year.

We are almost in 2004 so 2005 isn't too far away.technology is running the earth. Now,they have small tiny robots that will clean your floor.I wonder if anybody saw these adverstised by any chance? ??? ;D

I've seen the infocommercials for one Howard.

Hmm, 2005 isn't far off, so I think it will be pretty much be like today.  I think appliances, cars...everything will continue to get smaller and sleeker until around 2008.  At this time, things will be so small, sleek and cut-down in style, that we will see a revival of some larger, more artisitic objects.

I saw that commercial last night and thought it looked pretty cool.

I don't see 2005 being much different than 2003.  Just more expensive.

I hope the late 90's stuff will be gone too.
I Don't think in 2005 anything will be really different technology wise. I hope in 2005 the economy will be good and the unemployment rate drops down significantly. The economy is starting to make a little comeback now but not where I think its supposed to be.

By 2010 will see hands-free phones available in every car(make and model.) The automobile in the last 3 years has become a place of business to people if you think about it. People are talking on their cell-phones all the time in the car.

The US will continue to get more populated each and evety year.

By 2010 I will be 31 years old. I don't like thinking about that.

When l'm thinking about age 30 or 31 you wonder if you are going to be married or still single and what kind of job you are going to have. You always need that job security so you can pay bills. Until then you take it day by day. Thats the only thing you can do.

I'm surprised we don't have scanning bars/UPC codes or computer chips on/in our person yet. We may all come to have them at some point in the near future. There would be no need for any types of I.D. cards then. I would definitely dislike that.
