Subject: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
Your opinions on the New Fall Lineup:
1. CSI:Miami
2. 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughters
3. Survivor:Thailand
4. Everwood
5. In-Laws
6. Do Over
7. John Doe
8. George Lopez
9. Birds Of Prey
10. That Was Then
11. Boomtown
12. According To Jim
13. Life With Bonnie
I probably missed a show or two. ;)
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
On your list I've only viewed #s 2, 4 and 13. 8 Simple Rules is okay. It's not something I have to tune in to. I've gotten hooked on Everwood. Life With Bonnie is hilarious!
The only other new show that I've picked up this season is Less Than Perfect, as it follows Bonnie...
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
In the Drama/Action category:
"Do Over" - I catch it sometimes for the whole 80's nostalgia thing (even if they get it wrong sometimes) and I have nothing better to do.
"FireFly" wasn't listed up there, but In my opinion it falls into the "Nice Try" category. No substance.
"John Doe" - Now THAT is a good show, In my opinion. It is original and engaging. This show gives me a reason to stay tuned. I actually schedule the time slot every week, for I make certain to never miss an episode.
I like to think I have good taste when it comes to good drama (it even has some well placed lighthearted moments ;)). This is it!
In the Comedy category:
I stick to "Old Reliables" like "The Simpsons" (Every Sunday is a NEW episode) and "Friends" (As cheesy as it can get sometimes), though it is only on the "whenever I catch it" basis.
I don't watch a lot of TV. :)

i think the guitarist is really good............oh, are we on about TV and not the band from Manchester with an annual change of musicians" :http://fall.cjb.net/ :-[
i'll get me coat ;)
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I'll comment only on those I've seen...
1. CSI:Miami Pretty good although I still prefer the cast of the original CSI.
2. 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughters
3. Survivor:Thailand Interesting to see all the squabbling that goes on among the "survivors". ;D
4. Everwood
5. In-Laws
6. Do Over
7. John Doe
8. George Lopez I didn't care for the pilot episode but upon watching it a couple more times I've found that it's starting to grow on me.
9. Birds Of Prey
10. That Was Then
11. Boomtown
12. According To Jim I like Jim Belushi but don't care much for Courtney Thorne-Smith in a comedy.
13. Life With Bonnie
I will add:
Still Standing I think this show has a lot of potential.
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I haven't seen any of these show and have zero interest in them. ::)
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I like Everwood, even though it's a little sappy, and the constant "recaps" are annoying. But you missed the New Twilight Zone series, which I like, even though it's not as good as the original or the 80s Twilight Zones.
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I mainly stick with the older shows that I know I will like. As for these I can comment on the ones I watch:
2. 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughters
I like this one. It is funny, and it is great to see John Ritter back on TV.
3. Survivor:Thailand
Big Survivor fan. I like this season. Maybe I am just biased.
8. George Lopez
I have only seen one episode, but I thought it was funny.

There's a new new Twilight Zone? Whoa... but, without Rod Serling at the helm, could it really be called "The Twilight Zone"?
Tarzan Boy

Well, it's not the same, it never could be without Rod Serling, but it's interesting. It's usually two half-hour long stories that always have a twisted ending. I've been a Twilight Zone fan since as long as I can remember, and used to faithfully buy the magazine (80s era, I believe). I tend to like oddities, so shows like these attract me.
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I haven't seen many of new shows I listed either. :-John Doe.
CSI:Miami is all-right but like CF I prefer the original.
I still enjoy watching Survivor.
Birds Of Prey so far is okay
George Lopez is fairly funny.
According To Jim, Oops!!! Not a new show. But I do like this one.

I didn't know about the New Twilight Zone but I will look out for that one. I am a big fan of Twilight Zone. :D

Great! let me know what you think! It comes on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. :)
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
1. CSI:Miami - Not as good as the original, but still good.
3. Survivor:Thailand - I am a big fan of every survivor. I like the way this one is going, however I havent decided who to cheer for
5. In-Laws - Funny, but still not very good
7. John Doe - Great show. Probally my favorite new show. (Ranks up there with "The Dead Zone" and "Monk", but they were summer shows so are not included in the list.)
11. Boomtown - Seems like the perfect show to follow "Law and Order CI", however it fails to keep my attention.
Others I have Seen:
Push, Nevada - the first episode was good, but I keep missing it every week.
Hidden Hills - Dumb, Dumb, and Dumb.
The Twilite Zone - Just like the mid 80's version this version will be a failure (Worn out story lines, horrible acting). if you want to see a similar show go with "Outer Limits". The plots are a lot thicker, and the acting is ten times better

Outer Limits is great!!!
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
Birds of Prey is interesting...but someone besides the Huntress needs to kick ass.
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I haven't watched any of the ones listed, but there are three not listed that I have watched:
Birds Of Prey Not bad, I find it has quite a bit of potential.
Firefly The first episode was kind of weak, but following episodes are much, much better. Sadly, I found out today that it has been cancelled already. I guess sci-fi shows don't do very well in prime-time on network tv (unless it's related to Star Trek). If it had been syndicated, or on the Sci-Fi channel I think it would have been given more of a chance.
Presidio Med A really, really good medical show. All but two of the main characters are women, which gives it a different perspective. I find I really, really like it. My favorite actor plays one of the doctors, and my only complaint is that I would wish he had more screen-time. But even if he wasn't on the show at all, I would watch it.

I agree!
That and MD's are the only new shows I have really watched, but I like them both quite a bit. I'm always nervous about getting too attached to anything new, for fear they'll cancel it! And I don't follow ratings too much, so for all I know, both of my new shows could be on the bottom of the list, and on their way out..... :-/
Subject: Re: New Fall lineup Good, Bad or Undecided?
I was watching SNL last night and after SNL they showed a rerun of She-Spies...and then I realized that She-Spies had been cancelled :( I really enjoyed that show, it had self-deprecating humor and wasn't afraid to be cheesy, sorta like a 2000-ish version of Get Smart. Sigh.... :-/
Maybe they will release a DVD for the first (and only) season.
